    Incomplete tileset of a low-income house for my (still unnamed) project. I've decided to go for a different style of tileset, but someone else can probably get some use out of this (sharing is caring). Background isn't transparent but it's exactly to scale for VXA/XP. It's not special enough to create an entire thread to dump it on so I'll post it here.

    @Avery I was just unsure if there's enough material here to warrant creating a thread. I guess I'll post it and see if there are any objections.
    First screenshot my (unnamed) project. This is an unfinished draft of 1 of 4 character avatars the player selects when starting the game. His design is unfinished (but his clothes will actually be black in the final game). He is pictured in a custom status/growth window; I didn't like the default system for gaining stats, so I evented my own system.

    Project uses an activity-based progression + a freeform advancement system. Based on a characters activities, they gain points in a pool along with normal stats. Points can be spent to a group of corresponding stats, or these points can be converted (at a really bad conversion rate) to another point pool. Game is fairly difficult, so I give the player enough freedom to form their own strategies.

    Because he is 'player's avatar character' he's not pictured with a weapon/magic/any specific fighting style, only a charismatic pose (despite him not having any charisma points in this screenshot lol) and these things will be determined by the player.
    Help me name my project? Only criteria is that the title has to be one word, is composed of not many different letters, and kind of looks/sounds like a Palindrome (spelled the same backward) but doesn't actually have to be one. The title can be gibberish too, as long as it's memorable and 'sounds cool'. Like 'Gattica" or "Protoporos".

    It's not a waste, I was having fun thinking of palindromes. Also, Aibohphobia is the fear of palindromes XD

    Naccar, Braxarb, Walilaw, Lettuttel, Solos, Topspot, Dogsgod, Malayalam, Borroworrob, Ninenin, StokolokotS, Noxinnixon. And of course, Tacocat.

    Aibohphobia lol I had no idea. Thank you for sharing these other fun palindromes. IIRC they did something similar when they named the phobia for fear of long words lol.

    Red's design is finally finished (his hair is blue on purpose, it's a joke!). Out of all of the compulsory party members, he spends the most time with you. Just like the character he's based on, he presents himself as a simple person who only wants to help others, but there's obviously more to him than meets the eye.

    His design didn't change as drastically as Senary. I felt his belt was the best way to express him as a character, so I gave him a skull belt, and traded the spiked collar for a simple choker (to put more emphasis on the belt). Bandages (presumable leftover from a hospital trip) instead of a shirt. When I imagined him, I never pictured what color his shoes were, so I left them completely white.

    I don't know when I'll have time to finish this, so I'll post this mostly complete version now. Another major character of my project, his name is Red (at least until I can think up a better R-name). In case he looks familiar, it's because his design (and personality) is based directly from my favorite anime character of all time (who is, unfortunately, fairly obscure).

    He's not smart at all, but he has a strong sense of 'righteousness' and despite his appearance and his background, has always wanted to be a great hero. His biology is special, so much so that he is frequently kidnapped by a pharmaceutical company that makes unique medicine from his blood (evidenced by the livestock tag left in his ear).

    Updated Senary's design (left). The previous one is overdesigned and her lack of functional pants is distracting and undermines her as a strong female character. She now has compression shorts, shorter hair, and a loose-fitting shirt for a modern look. She was lacking the authority of her original design, so I gave her military cap with her namesake.

    @ATT_Turan She's not really a military character but she's the leader of a group, and someone who's implied to be "self-aware" of how powerful they are/how independent their power allows them to be of other groups/systems/components of society. I see your point; the short shorts are still pretty distracting, but you got to admit it's better than a bodysuit and crotchless pants.

    @ATT_Turan Besides, she has the ability to temporarily paralyze someone via eye contact. It's strongly implied she's not used to getting hit, so her outfit, combined with her preference for fighting w her hands, could be rationalized that she's 'strong enough' that it won't diminish her fighting capacity (which sorta align with one of the game's themes on individuality/freedom/non-functionality).

    The concept art for the sprite of Senary, a major character in my upcoming (as-of-yet-unnamed) project. She is known as the Timelord because she can "stop time" by making eye contact with a person; Paralyzing them for a short period of time through a type of hypnosis. Tell me what you think about her. I'm thinking of changing the color of her coat.

    She has a questionable past and presently she is the leader of 'Emergence' a group that controls the populations of hazardous wildlife. Her personality is serious and driven. Initially, she is independent of the player\the episodic events of the story in general, but as the story becomes more complicated and as her goal aligns with the plot, she comes around.

    Dug out my failed project from 2019 today to scavenge resources; (think FF13 + A documentary about drug abuse). Basically, I got too obsessed with details, project was oversaturated with scripts (I was too afraid to event anything), and I was always changing my mind and could never commit to a design decision. It was a learning experience.

After an entire year, finally made new story cutscenes. Ones that take place after the current last boss. Praise be.
That moment when you're getting a new update ready, deploy it for the final round of testing (gotta make sure the deployed version runs, ya know?) andddddd there's a visual blip :ysrs: Doesn't impact gameplay. It's only on-screen for a few seconds. But you can't leave it there.
So now you have to fix it, then redeploy, then retest. Why do I do this to myself.
So I'm reading a sci-fi book called Berserker Man. Now, the 'Berserker Man' isn't a man or a Berserker. He is actually a very calm 11 year-old-boy. So misleading title. He was recruited to fight these emotionless killing machines called Berserkers. Also confusing. I will read it until it starts making sense.
A few tweaks and changes, now the load screen is literally loading :kaoswt:
