  • Well, when I get home, I am going to try my hand at character art. I have realized that just because most is hand-drawn does not mean it has to be. I can do vector art. As such, I will try my best.
Modifying my resized XP tiles... no idea if this is going to make my cave look awesome, or just blurry.

Call it the Blurry Cave and nobody will complain. :p

Ha! There's that! Or maybe just revert to told graphics and pretend my failed attempt never happened.
It never fails to blow my mind how quickly a map can go from boring to pretty, just by adding a few things - some long grass, nice trees, flowers here and there, the tent and the hole in the ground that are required piece of the map...

It's all the little things that count.
Man. Why wasn't quinoa popular when I was going to school... $10 of quinoa salad has fed me lunch all week and then some... That's less than $2 per meal for a good, healthy meal!

I don't think most school kids would like Quinoa; it isn't exactly the tastiest thing around.

Well, do remember school != kid... I went back for high school upgrading when I was 28 and into a college course 2 years later (there was a lot of catching up to do).
Well, when circumstances force you to change aspects of your game, you can whine and complain, or suck it up and find an alternative.
Not even an hour at work and I go and slosh a good quarter of my cup of coffee on my shirt. Good job, me.
    taarna23
    taarna23
Nope. But it was on a black shirt anyway, so it would really only look wet. I just mourn the loss of perfectly good coffee and the "fantastic" start to a work day. x_x

I have this stinking feeling that you are going to have a bad time.

Happened to me, too. Opening a bottle of coke and my shirt was white and there were seven costumers at that point. But gladly I could get rid of the most of it with a sponge and water.
Grammar hint of the day - its vs. it's: If you can't say "it is," then use its. Apostrophe-s usually denotes belonging, but not in the case of "it's." Enjoy! =P

It's an easy one to make, which is why I'm glad there's an easy rule for it. If you use "it's" just read your sentence back to yourself with "it is" instead. If it sounds silly, you probably don't need the apostrophe!

I just made some Holiday Chai tea and made my office room smell like Christmas!
    taarna23

It was nice! It's a nice, strong chai with gingerbread and rum flavours added. Chocolate and spice sounds good, too, but any tea I've had that was supposed to taste like chocolate never did.

@taarna this one does, I got it at a psychic fair actually so it's not some store bought stuff. Got to make your own bags or use an infuser and everything. I like the sound of gingerbread though.

Ah yes, I love gingerbread. :D

My mother bakes a lot, and one of her specialties is gingerbread.

One of the tricks to making gingerbread really good, is to add a pinch of cayenne powder to the mix, the same goes with ginger or peanut butter cookies.
Making a game is easy. Making a -good- game ranges from hard to nightmarish, and every single step is worth it!

Shortcut-name your game good game; it just got a lot easier.
Rain. AND snow. AND 70+ km/h winds. I'd like to go back to bed now. =(

ha! I agree... but had to go to work. But I can work on my game at lunch! I'm fortunate that my workplace doesn't have draconian software policies.

I don't know if there's a name for it, but I call it a recipe for icy roads. Be careful driving!

Fortunately (at least in this case), I take the bus. We have crappy buses, but at least we're among the biggest vehicles on the road.
Sometimes it amazes me how long it takes to work on some small things... But then I get it done and smile because even the small things are just so awesome.
Exhausting couple of days... Time to clean up some rescaled XP tiles and hope that I'm passable enough at pixel art to make it look good.

Also recentering some MV shelves... the way the place on the map either right on top of or a distance away from walls is crazy-making.
Canada + November + No furnace thermocouple = sense of panic.

"Warm." Ha. All that means is I'm more likely to get the flu. Does not mean I can go without a furnace. =P

This was me last year. I survived with a space heater. If you do the same just make sure it's meant for long term indoor use so you don't accidentally kill yourself.

I have a decent one going (with a tip sensor and overheating sensor) but it's just not enough. Hoping hoping to get repairs effected soon. Tomorrow if I am lucky.
Aw. Is lunch over already? Oh, well. I tested some battle backgrounds, made a blog post, put a fog overlay on my forest town, and started on some initial character stat curves. Not bad.
Phew... first blog post here. Not so good at this social media thing, but if I'm going to be making games, I darn well better catch up.
Yay, I found a way to make the MV backgrounds look like some other ones that I got. Hooray for selection!

I've got good news and bad news. The good news is, there aren't any bad news to report. The bad news is, there aren't any good news to report.

Or as others say, yesterday was uneventful.

I am curious that can you "understand/get the point" about what does this place do generally?

After 'multiple breakdowns', it's finally over. 10/10 will do this again.
Ever notice that villains can reform and become better people, but heroes can only ever die... or live long enough to see themselves become villains?

Isn't that interesting?
