  • My friend picked up GTA5. I'm not usually a fan of GTA games. He says it's a lot of fun to play. Should I believe the hype and pick it up?

Xbox 360 version... one of the reasons I'd be getting it is to play with my friend. But, if it's not very fun, then I don't see a point of buying a game just for playing with a friend.

I enjoyed it. Even if you're not playing it for the story, sometimes it's just fun to drive around and make a mess.

^ yeah... Screw out the cops and make a biggest city wide incidence as you can.
I don't know why, but I really like the "Cyberpunk" setting. I like Ghost in the Shell as an anime because of it. :D

    Another cyberpunk lover here too.

I heard good things about 'Ghost in the Shell'. Should I give it a try? I want to get mindblown xD
Huh, I've gone like 5 days without reading a single post on here and only a tiny amount of status updates... Perhaps Airmech Arena is eating up too much of my time?
I think places would be a lot more serious about who they license to drive cars if people were able to sue the people who licensed the drivers who caused accidents. Yes, I almost got into 3 accidents in a 15 minute span because people can't drive.
    Hudell
    Hudell
    That could actually work.

Can't people try to sue them already?

@Hudell - I don't think so. I don't think they qualify as accomplices or something.

They wouldn't win, but can they try?
Amusing myself at work today I wondered "Has anyone ever created a game where the status effects had impacts on storyline? Like muted characters couldn't talk during them?"

Not sure if this counts, but in my recent short dungeon crawler any ally that was KOed wouldn't appear in the cutscenes and wouldn't have dialogue lines unless revived.

I've never seen such a game, but for persistent status effects, it makes sense. Petrified characters can't do much talking, for example.

That would be awesome and hard to do!
Annnnnndddddddd.... time to delete all my events again. Sometimes, I find it so hard to cut content and features... But, if they don't work or are weirdly convoluted with little purpose... I have no choice but to cut them, even if I liked them. :(

What Hotfirelegend suggested is what I've done. And, later on I even found a home for them in my story, and bam, 30 minutes of game time added in the easy way.

The events have to be deleted because I've removed features. Some of the events would no longer function without the features and would just kind of exist there for no reason. Even if I put them into a different project, I'd still need to recreate the features that go along with them. Just part of the process! At least I am catching this stuff early!

Ahhh...see what I did was I just made a new copy of the same map, and that way I started over with an empty map with no events. If I determined the old map was useless, I deleted it (and all the events), otherwise it sat with the events just in case. Though if you are missing features saving them doesn't do much good anyways I will agree
So... I was up all night and didn't go to bed. I'm decidedly wonky in the head right now because of it. It's currently a mixture of "must sleep" mixed with, "super alert". I am going to bed early tonight... I can't afford to lose much sleep two days in a row.

I'm not that different. I slept for three hours last night. Right now I have to endure a long meeting, so I'm just a mix of coffee and guaraná.

I wish caffeine worked on me. I intake so much of the stuff that it can actually calm me down enough to put me to sleep. I got another 4 hours of work after lunch is over and it's basically just me fixing everything that broke during the week of vacation I took.
Made a post earlier this afternoon, then wandered off to watch some shows and play some Metroid. I come back to a crapload of likes. What the heck just happened?!

:p if you look at my profile, I have very few likes for my high post count. Few people ever like what I have to say. I find it weird and a bit unsettling having so many likes in such a short amount of time.
Some days, I wish I could play Dragon Warrior Monsters again. I don't know why, but I really loved those games.
Anyone remember the game "Illusion of Gaia"? That man who traded items for Red Gems? I just realized this morning I created a similar system in my game. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing...
I'm up at 2:00 a.m. here tinkering with my game. Not just that, but watching "The Fifth Element" as well. Yes, I do consider it one of the better movies of all time. Yes, it is helpful creatively! Don't judge me!

Hey, that's a great movie! I love it so much! "Lilu Dallas Multipas!" And the explanation scene where it cuts between the good guys and the bad guys. Lol. Now I wanna watch it!

    Loved The Fifth Element!
After winning a game of Civilization After Earth, I feel much better. The machines have taken over the world!
My friend and I just watched the first episode of "The 100". We didn't even get through the first episode before I'd spotted almost 50 things wrong with the show including things a person would have learned in basic High School Science classes. I'm glad I stopped watching TV almost a decade ago. It certainly hasn't improved...

Also: The Walking Dead, Under The Dome(I think that's it's name), Doctor Who, Vampire Diaries(Despite it being a love story it is quite brutal), Theres others but I think you get the point. I'm more of a Anime guy myself so I rarely watch T.V. except for football season (American).

I watch fictional shows under the understanding that the writers have at least graduated High School or know how to use Google for research. Also... to retort the comment about music... Yeah, pretty much all of these days does suck... So... yeah...

Playing Civ on higher difficulties has taught me only one thing... The RNG rolls more in favor for computers at higher difficulties. If it didn't, the computer couldn't consistantly beat my armies who have 10+ more points of attack or defense than their armies. I hate devs who introduce "artificial difficulty" instead of actually making their AI smarter.
Okay, "Walking Bomb" is officially the most overpowered skill in all of DAO. Able to wipe out entire swathes of enemies in a single casting and doing almost 300 damage for the achievement in a single go. Easymode Unlocked!

    I started with a mage. :/

I think Dragon Age 2 is way easier, but the first had the better story. :/

Why can't be every game perfect? :D (\s/)
    Tai_MT

Because sometimes devs are allowed to be lazy and lower standards in order to make a dollar or sixty.

True, even I must admit, DOA is a great game. :)

I've seen worse like Borderlands 2. Borderlands was a great game. <3

But Borderlands 2 had such a funny world and then the ultra hard difficulty, if you play alone. > :o (\s/)
Yay, "Happy New Years" entails me having to put my username and passwords back into every single website I frequent in order to sign back in. Freakin' computer nonsense...
    Tai_MT
    Tai_MT
Which would not be a problem if different websites didn't have wildly different password requirements... Which forces me to use 5 or 6 variations of the same password and subsequently forget which websites use which passwords... -_-"

My old computer didn't. This one does. I'm not sure why, but it's annoying so far this morning, ha ha.
Can anyone tell me what the name of a game is? I remember vaguely seeing it at some point... There were some kind of gravity effects or something and it's revealed partway through the game that you're actually in space on an orbiting satellite or something. Anyone remember it?
This is how smooth and how much better Halo 5 works than previous games: I have always sucked with sniper rifles in Halo games. I'm usually lucky to get 1 or 2 kills out of 8 shots. I picked up the sniper rifle for the first time in Halo 5 and went 17 and 7 with it while having 5 headshots and 54% accuracy.
Halo 5 multiplayer BETA... So far, I'm finding it a lot of fun. I'm enjoying the maneuverability and how the guns handle and aim. Seems a lot more fluid and skill based than Halo 3, Reach, or 4.

Does it focus more on actual teamwork, or is it just the same old run around like a headless chicken scenario?

A coordinated team will always win over a group of 4 random dudes. A big part of it is controlling the map and getting the power weapons

That sounds like a much better system than Destiny - everyone running around with shotguns and what not was silly.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
