Huh, I've gone like 5 days without reading a single post on here and only a tiny amount of status updates... Perhaps Airmech Arena is eating up too much of my time?
I think places would be a lot more serious about who they license to drive cars if people were able to sue the people who licensed the drivers who caused accidents. Yes, I almost got into 3 accidents in a 15 minute span because people can't drive.
Amusing myself at work today I wondered "Has anyone ever created a game where the status effects had impacts on storyline? Like muted characters couldn't talk during them?"
Annnnnndddddddd.... time to delete all my events again. Sometimes, I find it so hard to cut content and features... But, if they don't work or are weirdly convoluted with little purpose... I have no choice but to cut them, even if I liked them.
So... I was up all night and didn't go to bed. I'm decidedly wonky in the head right now because of it. It's currently a mixture of "must sleep" mixed with, "super alert". I am going to bed early tonight... I can't afford to lose much sleep two days in a row.
Made a post earlier this afternoon, then wandered off to watch some shows and play some Metroid. I come back to a crapload of likes. What the heck just happened?!
Anyone remember the game "Illusion of Gaia"? That man who traded items for Red Gems? I just realized this morning I created a similar system in my game. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing...
I'm up at 2:00 a.m. here tinkering with my game. Not just that, but watching "The Fifth Element" as well. Yes, I do consider it one of the better movies of all time. Yes, it is helpful creatively! Don't judge me!
My friend and I just watched the first episode of "The 100". We didn't even get through the first episode before I'd spotted almost 50 things wrong with the show including things a person would have learned in basic High School Science classes. I'm glad I stopped watching TV almost a decade ago. It certainly hasn't improved...
Playing Civ on higher difficulties has taught me only one thing... The RNG rolls more in favor for computers at higher difficulties. If it didn't, the computer couldn't consistantly beat my armies who have 10+ more points of attack or defense than their armies. I hate devs who introduce "artificial difficulty" instead of actually making their AI smarter.
Okay, "Walking Bomb" is officially the most overpowered skill in all of DAO. Able to wipe out entire swathes of enemies in a single casting and doing almost 300 damage for the achievement in a single go. Easymode Unlocked!
Yay, "Happy New Years" entails me having to put my username and passwords back into every single website I frequent in order to sign back in. Freakin' computer nonsense...
Can anyone tell me what the name of a game is? I remember vaguely seeing it at some point... There were some kind of gravity effects or something and it's revealed partway through the game that you're actually in space on an orbiting satellite or something. Anyone remember it?
This is how smooth and how much better Halo 5 works than previous games: I have always sucked with sniper rifles in Halo games. I'm usually lucky to get 1 or 2 kills out of 8 shots. I picked up the sniper rifle for the first time in Halo 5 and went 17 and 7 with it while having 5 headshots and 54% accuracy.
Halo 5 multiplayer BETA... So far, I'm finding it a lot of fun. I'm enjoying the maneuverability and how the guns handle and aim. Seems a lot more fluid and skill based than Halo 3, Reach, or 4.
Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
