It's really hard to not be a jaded jerk who thinks he's smarter than everyone... When the competition is the rest of humanity and all the really stupid things they say, do, and support. It's hard to be a nice guy when you can't go a single day without losing faith in humanity and welcome the end of the world.
Okay, with 150 hours in Dragon Age Inquisition and not much to show for it except hundreds of crafting items... I'm thinking tonight is TV and game design night. Gotta have me a small break. I know it's bad when even my dreams are Dragon Age.
It's important that people like you. Why? If people like you, it's a lot easier to get them to do stupid and/or crazy things on your behalf. Yes, even things that put them in mortal peril. Makes you wonder just how "good", good people are, doesn't it?
Okay, how can it be confusing to someone that you are loving and enjoying a game... But, you still have complaints about it? Someone told me that my position on Dragon Age Inquisition was confusing because I was singing its praises despite several posts where I ripped into portions of the game.

Yep, I sided with the Templars over the Mages in Inquisition. Why? Templars have a more compelling position of "If we don't exist, nobody has the power to stop mages off the rails" instead of the mage position of "we just want freedom to practice magic however we want!"

Just got back from seeing Mockingjay. Well, I liked it better than the last Hunger Games movie. I'm beginning to have a hunch that I'd be better off reading the books instead of relying the movies to tell a decent story...
Killed my first Dragon yesterday in Dragon Age Inquisition. Now I'm out looking for another. Alas, all I found was a lair of demons who don't know how aggro works and were targeting me instead of everyone attacking them. The search continues...
Dragon Age Inquisition: I just tried to take on my first dragon. 3 levels under the jerk and I still managed to get him to half health before FPW. Not bad at all! Maybe another level or two and I'll be kickin' it's butt!
Protip: If you have a doctor in your game that can't tell the difference between a dog bite and a human bite, it's a fantastic indicator you have a terrible writing staff that didn't do any research.
Telltale Games always make me so angry... "The Wolf Among Us" had a first episode free thing. I picked it up, completed it, then was promptly made angry when 80% of my choices didn't matter. Why include choices at all if they don't matter!? They don't add to the narrative if they don't matter!
I just got absolutely DESTROYED by a Dragon in Dragon Age Inquisition. I'd normally stay away, but the little spawned babies give good XP... Now... how to avoid the big sucker while farming the little ones...

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
