  • Does anybody know anything about SEO? I've been building personal websites for years, but someone asked me to make one for their business and I'm completely inept when it comes to that.

SEO doesn't have much to do with 'building' the site per se, it's more trying to get an already made site hits on search engines.

Yeah, I just don't know how to do that. I already have the site built, but I don't know what to do to make it more search engine friendly. I haven't touched the meta tags or titles. I just don't know what I need to do.

With the advent of the smart phone, the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off loses all cultural significance.

How does it lose cultural significance?

Because everyone is so interconnected now. Every part of that movie is dated in such a way that kids growing up today can't connect to the situations.

It's now an 80s period piece...like Jane Austen but with hair metal.
Last night I saw upon the stair, A little man who wasn’t there. He wasn’t there again today. Oh, how I wish he’d go away

Funny you should say that to us.
So I've been watching some of the Marvel cartoons on Netflix. Having grown up in the 90's on the X-Men and Spiderman series, I have to say there are a ton of great series (and some terrible) that I haven't seen before.

Marvel's had ****e luck on their animation department. I personally feel DC does it better. I did like X-Men Evolution at the time though.

Wolverine and the X-Men is pretty good. And I heard the latest Avengers cartoon is pretty badass.

Yeah, I've been watching the newest Avengers, it's almost as good as the 90's X-Men show. My wife is even getting into it.
The BBC Robin Hood show is incredible. For some reason writing dialogue is so much easier when watching this show.

Ah BBC. The only channels that make me want to scriptwrite after watching them. Wrote my own season of DW.
Really want to do custom faces for my game, but my drawing is terrible. :-/

Just curious, how bad is bad? Because I may be able to help out here.

If I did them, they'd all be disproportional stick figure faces. aka spheres with squiggles.

Final Fantasy 4: The After Years is such a long, poorly put together game.

After years is okay..but god DAMN the encounter rate! And enemies are just to strong or just to weak and don't give that much of EXP! Sleep Blade was the strongest weapon for Ceadore for a while! I stopped playing because of Porom's tale. Rydia's was the most fun and actually balanced.

Yeah, Porom's tale was the worst. I actually liked Edge's tale though.

Edge's tale was fun. Because it was decently fair.
Who won the Mysterious August contest? I only played one of the games, but was just curious because I wanted to check out another one, and I'd prefer it to be the cream of the crop.

It is still a mystery even though it is January!

Pretty sure they said they're making their own mystery game in which you got to solve the clues to find out who won.

This may or may not be false info. You'll have to find this out in another mystery game.

So I've suffered from IBS for years, and for the first time ever I drank peppermint tea today on someones recommendation. It took some time but it definitely helps!
Excited for this weekend, heading back to my hometown to meet up with my old band to record some music!

Anyone here managed to never burn out on programming? My current limit is 3 months(6-8 hours per day, 7 days per week, 50 hour programming week on average), and then I just have to take a break, sometimes lasting few days(with at most 2 hours on programming per day). I've been always like this so far, so I admire those who can always be so passionate on programming :)

Automatic level scaling without an option to turn it off can be a very bad choice for a game. The worst I've ever seen was in Nightmare of Druaga, where if a power outage made your system turn off, the game detects it as an attempted cheat and overwrites your save while taking away your best gear, leaving you unable to progress at the late stages of the game, and unable to recover.
Problem with sequels: Heroes getting rid of all their items and forgets all of their skills within the span of a year without explanation. :kaomad3:
I can see the end of my prologue. Perfect time to decide to pull everything over into MZ, right? Right?!
