@Scinaya: Quite true. In the middle ages, "16 and Pregnant" would've been a different kind of show. They probably would have called it something like "Wayted too longe to be with childe" or some such.

Between the Casey Anthony verdict, and last night's verdict of another should-have-been-a-slam-dunk case, I propose a new motto for my home state: "Florida. Because 'Homicide' is such a strong word."

Feel free to kill anyone in Florida. Nothing will happen to you. Just say you were scared.

Tried Shirataki noodles for the first time. While they're not exactly the same texture, the fact that I could make a bowl of guilt-free ramen more than made up for it.

Finally finished an event sequence that had been killing me for the last week. dayum, if this progress keeps up, I might have a demo on my hands soon... maybe not a good one, but still.

Got a few things done. Slow progress is still progress... but not nearly as satisfying as getting a lot of sh*t done.

Insomnia stinks... but I got to get some game-stuff done and see a video of a penguin getting tickled. That's a good place to end the "day", I think.

I wonder if native French-speakers think it's weird that Americans call each other "shower"-bags?

"streaming water" bags - and what is weirder is that some people still know what the original meaning of that word was in English....

streaming water is the Dutch word for shower as well. It's not weird because it's a different language.

Lol is also a Dutch word (slang), it means to have fun.

I love reading all this bellyaching about the Red Wedding on Game of Thrones. I only wish I had been able to see it happen :D Yes, it was gruesome, but it was also one of the most memorable, poignant parts of the books.

Since I resolved to shelve my other non-work/family pursuits and focus on my game (codename: Project Angst-Dump) things are moving a long much more smoothly.

If anyone here has a 3DS, likes first person dungeon-crawlers, and has a few hours to go: try the free demo for Etrian Odyssey IV. Fun stuff.

I got the demo the day it was released WAY back in February, it provides several hours of game play. Got the whole game and it's EPIC.

Definitely getting the whole game sometime soon. I gotta say, after trying Eye of the Beholder for the Super NES, I figured I was done with 1st person dungeon crawls, but EOIV really makes it fun.

No matter how many game ideas you get, you can still only do one at a time. Finish what you're working on now and write the others down for later!

The thing that annoys me about lucid dreaming is how easily I get distracted when I'm doing it. I try to focus so I can fly around and do cool stuff, but then I always end up either slipping or waking up. Bleh :\

I've never felt endangered while in a Lucid Dream... but in a really vivid dream (I usually have at least 3 of those a week) now that's a different story. Those ones can be terrible if your subconscious decides to vomit something terrible. I remember one dream where I was at the store, and my daughter climbed onto some scaffolding--like, really high. I was telling her to wait and I'd get her down. But she fell off and hit the ground head-first. I've never been so relieved...

I just tried the demo for Etrian Odyssey IV. It takes two unlikely things in an RPG and makes them work well: Map-drawing and elevator music.

The recent stories about Let's Play videos are an example of how both sides can be wrong on an issue. 1) Monetization of Let's Plays shouldn't even be a thing. Maybe 2% of all let's plays are of high enough quality to even be worthy of it anyway. Even so, 2) Shame on Nintendo for trying to keep people posting videos of themselves playing their products.

I remember SEGA forcing YouTube to take down videos which contained a certain product of theirs; I think it was Shining Force, or something. I agree, though, a person shouldn't be making money off of an LP.

Volrath: I'd watch it :D It's crazy that Nintendo is coming down on that kind of activity, but it's crazier that people were making ad money off of it. I always assumed someone had to really have their A-Game to be a Youtube partner and share in the ad profits. And most Let's Players don't really bring an A-Game to the videos. They generally don't have to. Even very good ones with witty improvisations, well-written commentary, etc. are still relying entirely on someone...

else's art, graphics and material. But still, it's pretty douchey of Nintendo to just label it all under the same umbrella. Like they couldn't just stop the monetization without trying to cry "infringement!" on it all. Talk about letting some bad apples spoil the bunch :\
