    Do you prefer to display choices in message windows or separate?

    I prefer to have the choice to display choices inside the message windows since it's not a common feature.

    Both.  It depends a lot on what's being presented.

    I think I would prefer inside the message box, I don't know but having it to the side as another box it seems like soo weird to me.
    How did scope changing work again in FF5?

    I'm also not convinced that the extra "actor target window" is actually necessary. Why not just the one that already exists?

    Final Fantasy 5. Loved the class system in that one.

    Woah...  Donot blink mode!
    I should probably stop watching FF5 videos since it's spilling over to RM dev

    FF5 is loved for it's job system that was well done, but beside better to watch Dungeon crawlers like Etrian Odyssey because they're keeping what FF serie lost over the time. Don't pay attention to the front view in those games what it count it's what those games can achieve in turn based game like we've on Rpg maker and how they're able to get new ideas to keep that simple system alive+interesting.

    Their systems could be applied to side view, that's what I meant.

    Yanfly's Aftermath Plugin = FF9 and FF7 victory aftermath and now this. That's awesome.
    Unison skills are a lot more complex than I thought. Wonder how victor did it in his battle system.
    I'm new to coding and I really want to use your devour script in a game I'm working on. Could you please help me learn how to use it properly? I'm hoping you could show me what I'm doing wrong in a skype session. I'm afraid I just don't know what to put in the notes box. I want the character to have an attack which allows him to eat a weakened enemy to recover HP. It should only work on certain types of enemies as well. Please help me.

    I pasted the devour and effects manager scripts into materials after a youtube tutorial showed me how to do it. I made the devour skill and posted this to it's notes.

    <eff: devour>

    I posted this to the enemy's notes.

    <devour: :devour_recover_hp>

    I play tested it and it didn't work. I've tried different ways of writing the notes. I think I have it wrong. What code belongs in notes exactly?

    You would write 1, since 1 is the ID that is assigned to the recover HP devour effect.

    That worked. Thank you.

    Ah yes:  http://ps3.brewology.com/gamesaves/image.php?d=369802&system=ps3

    It would be the length of the character portraits and be used instead of the characters, similar to disgaea 4.

    Understood.  But the dimensions of the picture wouldn't scale depending on the resolution or platform I was told.  Hmm.  I suppose I could make one standard resolution size?

    Game resolution and window resolution are two different things.

    Game resolution is always scaled proportionally based on the window's resolution.

    For example, if your game res is 816x624, and your window resolution is 480x320, then the game will be scaled down proportionally to fit that.

    Naturally, at this point, you would want to change your game resolution to 480x320 so your graphics do not get scaled, but now you have to get a new set of GUI's.

    Let's go with 816x624 for now, since that is the standard resolution on desktops.

    If you would like a disgaea-based save scene, I could modify this as needed and release it as a separate plugin.

    Alpha masking with windows!
    Not sure what "indigo" is but it's quite something.

    I'm also a bit concerned that, while there are clearly 6 branches, only 3 commas exist at the top.

    Perhaps Yes and No are outdated (going to be replaced in the next version of RPG Maker), replaced with all the colors of the Rainbow instead (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet).

    Would allow players to pick from 7 instead of two options (a genius move that will change history as we know it).
    Can't find an easy way to delete old messages. Have to remove them one thread at a time. It is slow.

    That's one of the weak points of IPS boards like this. It's a huge pain in the arse. I mean a GIANT PAIN in the arse to remove stuff.
    (Also, IPS has a bad rep for having lots of issues despite of lots of enhanced features. It's hella glitchy.)

    Yeah, it's right here:

    Window.prototype._createAllParts = function() {
    //...
    this._windowBackSprite.alpha = 192 / 255;
    //...
    };

    It's a tradeoff. The fix lets windows behave like normal sprites, but in turn fixes masking and maybe other stuff, too.

    I tried changing that to simply 1, but the windows were still overlapping.

    Which is kind of weird.

    Ah, yes, it's overridden here:

    Window_Base.prototype.standardBackOpacity = function() {
    return 192;
    };

    There might be more, but i don't want to edit my Window.png to test it, right now :D
    Next tool for video-making. Now I can add transition effects without having to use a video editor...

    lol you actually do have an account over there http://rpgmakermv.co/

    we've got like 2 parallel communities. both are super different though, we'd never get away with the way we speak to eachother over there on this board. i come from film, so i go off on people, then they call me out for being an ass and we share hip-hop w eachother and become friends over there. but here, since it's brand-controlled, i can find a lot more information about commercial development.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
