Recently marked my 3-year anniversary of starting my project. Might as well make last year's "lol look i've accomplished nothing" post an annual tradition.
Most of my game occurs inside a kid's dream, and kids don't have the most refined palates. So, the "elegant" NYC restaurant she visits will serve hits like:
*Sides* Apple of Sauce: Criss-crossed with candied cinnamon sprinkles.
*Senior Discounts* Ratagouille: Tender medallions of range-fed rat on a bed of soggy newspaper clippings. Add eyeballs for $6, or sewer-drain sauce for $4.
You know you suck at RM when you're baffled why something is working correctly. I just successfully(?) spliced notetag/script stuff I found to make a weapon that inflicts a random status upon critical hit.
In related news, the weapon is called Holly Wood Bow. Because the user is a famous singer. Like in Hollywood. And the bow is made of holly ... wood. Get it?!??!
Also me: Creates skill, item, and equipment names like ...
Salmon Jellybean
Feel-Good Hit of the Summer
Marmalade Spreader #2
Quinoa Power!
Actual Literal Wand
Just for amusement, I put together an AI prompt for my party member Quin. I'm a little annoyed at how well it worked, haha (minus the ridiculous hands):
Am I the only person who consistently has to spend an extra 20 minutes per post editing it to fit it under the character limit (which is way less than the site claims)?
As a longtime editor, I apparently need to take my own advice about brevity.
Forgive my rudimentary video editing skills, thought I'd start sharing progress on my status posts as well. Here's the second character of my roster, Mǽlhafoc, the Ælven ranger.
And if you missed the first one many moons ago, here's Vilhelm, the tarnished knight.
Knocked through three more rough draft sprites. (A frog beast thing, a skeleton, and vampire bat) down to seven sprites and a thing more appropriately done as tiles.
