  • So curious for all those who have created or in progress of a game how do you create your cities? Do you guys divide it in different maps or do one whole big map and which option do you think is better?

You should probably create a topic for interesting questions like that (a moderator will possibly lock your status).

But I think it's very unlikely for a Dev to create a whole game on a single map, especially for small engines like RM. Because it's not just the map you have to load, but all the objects, NPCs, scripted events, etc associated with each area. I'm sure there are some exceptions, but generally people divide their project to smaller parts, with less area and eventing. Even in Triple-A games where free-roam is available, the map is gradually generated around you and only keeping the very essentials (like textures and meshes) away from you, to give the illusion of a single, vast map.

I was just curious for myself because i like the idea of having a huge city to wander around in as sorta like the main city for a game but i don't like so many transitions either personally. I'm sure though that getting lost wouldn't be fun in a game either.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
