  • I was playing Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 2 the other day and on one of the loading scenes it said that 'over 100,000 man hours went into its creation'. That made me think of my game and how there are two people working on it...Two people for 100,000 hours would take 5.7 years...Thinking I should scale back the size and scope of this game...

    Well... you're not exactly developing a new graphics engine, every single custom resource, voice acting, and distribution either...


    But yeah, grand projects barely ever get done, and if they do, it's because the authors stuck with their game for 3+ years,

    I wasn't trying to suggest my game would take 5 years...but I am new to development, so the learning curve itself will add 4-6 months minimum...
