    Just saw some of the Castlevania anime season 1. Its very well drawn and acted, and I've always liked the Trevor storyline, but so far its just...tepid. I dunno whats missing, but its not holding my attention. Maybe because the plot is predictable?

    I liked the first season, but the second one was awful. Blew away any steam it built up in the first season. Didn't watch it afterwards.

    I would have to disagree. Well. I suppose I don't disagree that it's "well drawn," but it's very poorly animated. The janky 3 fps shots really turned me off.

    All this Visustella stuff looks really good and I'm thinking of shelling out the cash...but it's all obfuscated and uneditable. I mean I understand why they did that but still, it would be nice to be able to tweak them...I might just buy them anyway...

    Some advice on this: Don't buy them unless you actively need them. Maybe look for other options first, as any incompatibility between VS and other stuff has to be addressed by the VS team themselves, which may or may not be a simple matter.

    Being a corpo rat, it's so easy to think one's doing the right thing: busily being productive and pushing paper so your boss will be happy and maybe give you that bonus. Then you get home too tired to even open RM and give yourself a nice excuse that you'll do it tomorrow. Man, I'm in a bad loop that needs a break.

    It does have an out of the box parallax mapping and modular tiling solution that's kinda neat. And theoretically you could combine it with other Unity stuff. Other than those...it's a lot like MZ, with a VERY clunky UI and terrible performance. I've always thought RM's greatest strength is its ability to make a game very quickly. If you take away its speed... well...

    I feel like cranking out one of those no brainer cookie cutter heroes save world with elemental crystal RPGs again. Just for the fun of it; I don't even care if no one plays it. Why does it feel like a vice?

    here's an idea:
    -the gods of antiquity were actual living people.
    -"Chronos" was the name that Earth people gave to that 'thing' from where 'gods' 'came out of'.
    -you play as an unnamed alien later to be hinted at to be named some rudimentary form of 'Zeus'

    think Stargate, but Greek, and no genocide plot.

    look at it this way: when you were kids and you were asked to draw a family picture, you'd pick up a pencil, draw a stick figure with three spikes on it's head, a 5-legged pet half way between a dog and an anteater, and a skewed house with ONE window.

    To be honest, #1,2,3 are really good as bases to then make as your own. Granted they'd be better fit as Side-View Battlers or for a side-scroller game. Nonetheless the potential is there. I'd only use #4 as a base for an alternative outfit.

    I had to set my PC clock again cuz it ran out of juice on Wednesday, and guessed Thursday... when I hit "update", it returned "failed to update"...
    ok, Friday it is... "failed to update".
    Saturday? "updated correctly at Saturday, 1 am!".

    My goal for 2023 is to build something with Unite. I mean, it IS coming out in 2023 right?

    Hopefully it will come out in 2023, but it's hard to say for sure. IMO, it's not a good sign that the release date is actually just a release year. I interpret that to mean that the devs don't have the foggiest clue of when it'll be ready, otherwise they'd at least narrow it down to a quarter (i.e. Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4). Or at least a very broad ballpark (i.e. "early 2023", "late 2023", etc).

    But I guess that it could be coming out soon, and they might just be deliberately keeping it vague to prevent people from being able to make an informed decision about whether or not they should hold off on buying MZ and the current DLCs. I.e. if Unite was coming out in two weeks, and people knew it, then someone who is thinking about buying MZ right now would probably decide to just wait for Unite instead.

Whew... I've been on a tear recently. Been working nonstop. Feels really good to be back in the groove! I think it's because I can finally see the end approaching. I only have 8 more side quests to develop (then NPCs, some art, then pretty much done).
