I need a process to streamline my NPCs since I'm drawing them all myself. haven't figured that out yet tho. thought about generating a bunch and just drawing over them.
here's a battle in my game after a LOT of different tweaks lol.
I love fighting games so there's some moves in my game that mimic those from fighting games. Mike here doing the famous Shoryuken from Street Fighter.
as of right now... I've got 2 different boss models for some bosses. A chibi one with multiple animations, but they don't look very imposing. or a bigger one that lacks other motions, but looks more intimidating I feel... can't decide on which I should use.
One of the first bosses of my game. His name is Enig and he think's he's a super hero...

Diana here can summon certain things with her high amount of mental energy. She's in a state where she get's added benefits like more damage and even an extra action.
everything needs a HYPE BEAM... or I feel it does. Ray can now fire off a huge beam from his G. Buster.
finally worked on the sequence for this slam attack. I think it's a lot better than what I had before.
Finally drew the intro scene to the game. Think of it as "pictures right before disaster strike". it has 2 of the characters discussing one of their futures and things might go awry with anxiety and panic...
been trying to up my action sequence game and I'm not entirely sure what to do, even with tutorials out there. but I think I'm heading in the right direction with some attacks.
When the Panic gauge is full, Mike will turn into Omar in a state of actual panic. his move list changes and until the meter depletes completely, he'll be able make use of this alter ego.
Each area of my game acts sort of like a level of sorts. These 3 are the bosses of the first area. Called Team Outcast, there's Riley, Mary Mars McQueen (Triple M), and Enig. A trio of wanna be super heroes.
for anyone who wanted to see the train area in action!
There's 7 main areas in the game that are all connected. This train get's you from an underground lab to the center of someone's subconscious. inside the train you can talk to some of the passengers. but going to the top of it, there's battles.
Here's Mike when you get a preemptive strike in battle. There's another one for when an enemy sneaks up on you too.
I got inspired by Odin Sphere and beat em ups to where only certain maps in an area will have battles. So to let you know when that's about to happen, you'll get this warning of sorts. They'll usually be 2-4 fights in a room you'll have to clear to proceed.
here is what's known as Escape Space... for the main character Mike, that space is the old apartment buildings he grew up. dive into your subconscious should you need to talk to friends, save, or just take a break...
New area in the game being worked on called Lab 5. It's a building belonging to the main antagonist group of the game, W.A.V.E (We are Vitally Enough)... the boxes and belt even move thanks to parallax/layers. -

Both Mike and Ray here are in a "HYPE!" state after Mike uses "Wild Party", which also heals everyone. they'll do more damage and counter more often, but defense is lower along with hit rate.
