    I'm guessing it is a 9 letter word, with two repeat letters (the c and s). And that's as far as I got in studying this stuff.

    It is not a 9 letter word, it's a sentence with spaces excluded (a standard procedure in cryptography to make it less readable via analysis).

    Well, since the key is shorter than the number of letters in the sentence, the key can be derived. Vigenere cipher has been broken for a long while after all :D

    I tried to see if I could get anything from "uvcmswasc" by using key "poryg", got "fhlomhmbe". Actually a pretty satisfying result.
