Wasn't there a Steam/IOS remaster that used hi-res sprites over low-rest SNES backgrounds... that looks like a cheap flash game?
It just replaced sprites and textures, but added nothing to the game.
I believe they went with 7 just because ItMs the most well known and would draw lots of hype because of that. It would also attract those who’ve heard of it for years, but never played it due to being born after the PSX era.
@NeoFantasy I've played FF7 for the first time 20 years after its release, but only because I never owned a console nor was interested in JRPGs at the time.
The remake can be interesting, but I fear the real-time combats, as I prefer turn-based.
The mobile port is a sin.
