    Haven't played it since the early 2000s either, but my guess is that it won't completely hold up to the test of time. The storytelling, setting, and graphics were really novel at the time. FF7 in many ways re-defined the genre that we know today.

    Played it back on the PS1 as a kid and loved it, but then I replayed it a year or so ago on Steam and didn't think much of it at all.

    Eh, the really last good one was 10. Yeah, I know, but it at least still felt like an RPG with It's linear presentation. I don't really count 11 and 14 as real Final Fantasy games, more like MMORPGs with FF plastered on the title. Maybe one day, they will get back to a format that works.
