You're right, of course! But you still need some sort of plan, even if it's a loose one. In my case, I've been working hard on/messing around with mapping, graphics, character busts, eventing random minigames and sidequests for 2.5 years without even really knowing what the game is about... (At least it's fun, right?)

Well for me it's not as much as having a fixed plan as to have a fixed way of doing things... That said im not gonna claim Ive made more progress here so... XD

I want to try having a fixed plan for this one but I understand what you mean. If you follow it religiously, it can stunt your creative flow.
I'm curious what you mean by having fixed way of doing things...

I wish plot could just happen for me as well. I'm just not that creative when it comes to overarching story ideas. I can do sidequests just fine, they also kind of just happen though. They're usually either silly or minigame related, lol. Making bigger stories intimidates me in a sense

I like to strike a balance between planning and winging it. If I spend too much time writing everything down, then I never get any actual work done. if I do zero planning, then I quickly lose interest because the project means nothing to me, and has no structure with which to guide me as I work.

I been slowing down and not focusing on project currently.
I had this idea for VTubers vs MOTHER and its a bunch of Vtubers finding eight melodies to fight a psychic alien and a fat kid. IDK, kinda find it hard to use RPG Maker for more than 15 minutes
Working on some wizard/magic bases:

I mean, technically it's a flying base but I haven't made any wings yet, so magic hovering is it for now.
