Cool. But you're the one screaming "The community, the community!" here, claiming that the plugins must serve them. Instead of actually going "hey, maybe I could do something like this instead that will work better!" you're complaining about someone obfuscating their code. This attitude of "people should slit their own throats for the good of the community" has got to stop.

The worst part about all of this: you're both right.

I understand the need to protect the code, according to what happened in the past. But is obfuscation enough to prevent people from stealing? I'm not really sure.

VisuStella in its current state is perfect for people who just want the plugins as they are. They don't need to change anything, so no matter what the code looks like, they don't need to tinker anything.

Galenmereth has more tact. I'd think they were the mod honestly

@Schlangan No, it's not. You can make obfuscated JS readable again if you know what you're doing, or which sites to visit. It'll probably deter more opportunistic and lazy code thieves, but it won't stop someone who's determined.

Oh no, the Australian who is known for her swearing and 'who gives a ****' character doesn't have tact. Whatever shall I do? >.>

Seriously tho, if you're not getting upset by the sheer entitledness of the community - that which is destroying the community! - then why act like you care at all?

I think the point to me isn't the fact who is right and wrong.

The fact people are entitled of their opinions is fine. Theirs way of stating it (I am not the best at it with my language barrier) but Ksi attitude in this whole thread isn't stating an opinion it's a Attack rant against the people who tried to explain their opinion.

(I am sorry Ksi this is how I interpreted it if I am wrong you can correct it)

I swear. It's to flavour. There's a reason the swear filter in these forums is so stronk - it was stress-tested behind the scenes. Just because people ****ing swear doesn't mean they're attacking people. If I was ****ing attacking someone they'd certainly know about it because there'd be more than just a few ****s and ****s thrown around, lemme tell ya now.

Hum I guess it's a differences in culture then,
To me it kinda seem aggressive but as I repeat it's a culture differences I guess lol.

In my culture swearing doesn't flavor either; it just displays aggressiveness and inability to control one's emotions. But well, why not.

I do get that people sometimes see swearing as an attack, however, it's a very real part of my dialogue and I don't tend to curb it when discussing something, usually. I'll try to tone it down but it's just how I am. You can ask anyone who knows me and they'll say I drop Fs and such like they're going outta fashion.

It gets worse the more annoyed I get, though, and in this case seeing how entitled people can be has got me a touch annoyed. Sad, mostly. Been part of this community for over 20 years now and seeing how far it's come (and how far it has to go) just really hurts, so yeah, maybe it was a bit personal to see someone using that community as an excuse for laziness and greed.

Maybe they didn't mean it on their behalf, but that doesn't mean others won't see an easy-to-take code as free real estate and make a grab for ****ing bank. I've seen a lot of people today whining about not being able to read the plugins easily and some of them have referenced their plans to make money being destroyed because of it. This was aimed mainly at them.

I mean sure, call it what you like. There is truth in both your comments and Galenmereth's. But they were hardly deserving of behaviour like that from a mod. Do you throw a tantrum every time someone has an opinion that isn't your own?

I mean, I'm not a mod mod. I'm a mod mod mod. I don't actually mod, I just mod. You know. I do about as much as any mod mod mod, ya know?

I swear a lot in regular conversations too, so I can understand where you're coming from. Context matters more than the words themselves. xD

Part of being a mod is policing a forum. You can not expect people to behave when you speak like that to them. If everyone goes around swearing like that the place will become a cesspool very quickly. Every second word out of my mouth irl is f this or f that. But I'm not gonna do it while at work or when I'm coaching kids etc...
padr81
Whether you like it or not you represent Degica and rpg maker web as a mod on their forum, and your behavior here is completely out of line. No I do it irl so its fine will fix that. This forum has a heavy young user base. Don't defend this with I do it irl and that makes it ok. Its important you guys set standards, plain and simple. You should apologize and move on.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
