I notice the sprite flickering sometimes. Is that a bug? Also, what's that red liquid? Blood? :0

Yeah the flickering is due to me shuffling particles to display the character. There's an occasional brief frame where the particle is deleted but the new one isn't there yet. I need to roll back through and figure out exactly where. Also I need to make one for events moving around too... that will... be time consuming. A by product of QSprite not working on MZ. Though the upside is I can apply weird effects

to the character, and she can run on different layers. Currently she's on z layer 10. As opposed the to normal 1 & 3 for characters.

You are also correct, the statue is in fact crying blood. And the macabre filter system is turning it into the pretty star water, seen all throughout the game. Even in the tea from earlier. I'm a big one for stuffing hidden meanings into the art.

One thing I haven't really mentioned so far is that the five chapters/episodes of the game are all based on stages of dealing with grief. The first chapter is themed on Denial. And of course the others are Anger, Bargaining, Depression and Acceptance. It's not a dark Wonderland without some good old fashion psychiatric issues. ;)
