Turning them into a useable tileset. You can then use that tileset in as many maps as you need, whereas parallaxing works on one map at a time.

an artist from this site once explained to me that regular mapping is 20% of the work for 80% of the quality. So decide: is that extra work worth the extra quality for you?

Oh it's not the quality. I am generally in favor of editor mapping. But it's the tiles that are only available for parallaxing and I am unsure whether to try turning them into tilesets or just use them as they were.
