The unexpected fiel format happens when a file failed to save properly, typically if your computer shuts down unexpectedly (power loss, BSOD, etc), or RM doesn't close properly. This isn't something that can be "easily fixed" by the wave of a magic wand. It's a issue that happens when the program doesn't act as it should. Is it something that can be fixed? Possibly. Will it be an easy fix? Who's to say. Until we can get it fixed, it's something we all have to l...
Until we can get it fixed, it's something we all have to live with.
A file not being saved properly because a program (or the OS) crashed is not a fault of the program (unless the crash itself is caused by the program). As it's not something that can be anticipated, I'm not sure how you expect it to be fixed.
If only Windows would implement proper atomic file handling, something linux has haid since its inception. But nope. Blame Microsoft for this, or move to OSX / Linux.
That said, I've never had this happen, so I would also run some serious damage checks on your hard drive.
Thing is it's not a file saving thing. It happens while running in play test mode, unless something being written while play testing? I've just never seen a program go badly emo when a bad crash happens. I haven't used MV but I'm assuming it still has this issue that either can't or won't be addressed. Wish it would though
