Nah, I haven't even been to diamond city yet. Almost 2 and a half days into the game, nearly level 30, and I'm still exploring and finding a lot of random cool things. I've gained 5 levels alone on just building settlements... And another 15 on just monsters I've killed. Even killed my first "Giant" monster today... Swan. Scary mofo.

Haha! You've been playing exactly like I have. Just taking my sweet time and exploring. Though, I have reached Diamond City, as well as finishing up some nice quests for the Minutemen - one of which nets you a very epic settlement.

Well, the Minutemen want me to go "retake the castle", but I don't really feel like it since it's so far south. Most of my exploration has taken me either directly south towards the Glowing Sea... or directly East towards the actual sea. I did get an Alien Blaster too. I just like wandering around and putting off quests. I also managed to find the Railroad without prompting, just by looking around and following clues.

First time I found their hideout without following the Freedom Trail, so I encountered their password wall puzzle thing and had no idea what it wanted me to do.

Well, I encountered the lake shortly after a quest from Hubris Comics. Then, I noticed I could target "Swan" in the lake. After I beat it, I explored for loot, found the first clue on the ground near a robot, and followed it to them. Through about 4 Super Mutant encampments. The door gave me pause, but I had been writing down the hints along the way, so it was funny to see the code was "Railroad", ha ha.

I really liked the Glowing Sea. It has such a different atmosphere than the rest of the Commonwealth.

I've yet to get to the Glowing Sea, but I've been trying to stockpile Rad X and Rad Away for the trip. Sucks that most random enemies deal more radiation damage to me than anything in the environment.

Haha! Yeah. once I found out it was "Railroad" I was kinda annoyed that I just didn't guess it. Ah well. It was worth the extra exploration and experience.

It was really funny trying to tell them that I had wandered into their lair by accident, ha ha. They were like, "what, you just randomly guessed our password by accident?" and I was sad there was no option to tell them they left fairly straightforward clues that anyone could figure out, ha ha.

Glowing One Ghouls deal insane amounts of radiation damage and can take a beating. Your life just melts away from them simply being close by. I didn't bother with the meds for the Glowing Sea, I just used a Hazmat suit which grants 1000 radiation protection. Your Power Armour also grants it, but I've yet to use my armour beyond the first battle with the Deathclaw.

I didn't like the Railroad at all, apart from deacon - he seemed cool. Everyone else was out for themselves and they rubbed me the wrong way. I refused to help them, so they refused to help me, which led to me wiping them out and taking what I needed. True story. A shame Deacon also had to die.

I don't have a hazmat suit yet, and despite my 31 Power Cells for power armor... I haven't used it since either. I think I mostly have it around as just trophies more than anything. There's places I COULD HAVE used it, certainly, but I hate plopping the cell in, getting in, dealing with the interface colors I don't like... Then, popping new cells in every 10 minutes or whatever. I'm actually just looking for Heavy Combat Armor. Makes me sad that I barely use Power Arm...

Armor now, when I looked forward to getting and using it in previous games.

I play more stealthy, so I never have cause to stomp around in the armour. It is useful in the Glowing Sea if you don't have a Hazmat suit, since it provides a constant 1000 rad protection bonus. Trust me, you will need rad protection for that area - it has a constant radiation damage effect which can reach up to 300 rads per second - more if radiation storms kick in. Rad X performs a similar job as the hazmat suit, you just have to keep using one every few seconds.

It's a very awesome area, though. There's a decent amount of exploration in there, too.

Well, maybe when I go in there, I'll stomp around in my Power Armor. Lord knows I have enough cores for it... I just wish the controls didn't make it feel so bulky and cumbersome, even in combat. I feel like I'm sacrificing speed for raw physical strength I don't need.

I liked the new mechanics for power armour. It makes it feel like you're actually piloting a suit of robotic armour - which is what it is after all. I do enjoy working on my armour as if it were a car, though. Gave it a new flame paint job and everything. :D

Well, I am collecting a suit of each armor type. I do like the different models. I just never feel like I need to use it for anything because I'm not a Melee fighter and nobody uses energy weapons on me save Gunners. Though, I guess it'd be great for the Children of Atom. I seriously hate that faction AND their guns.
The Stranger

Same reason. Not melee. I'm a sniper with a rifle as back up. My silenced sniper rifle downs most enemies in a single hit if caught unprepared. Plus, with the points invested in sneaking, I can avoid detection very easily, too. The only battles I've been detected in are ones I've been forced to engage in via scripted events.

I've been using shotguns and a the Laser Rifle that the Brotherhood gives you after that first quest. I modded it into a weak sniper rifle, but it gets the job done, and ammo is plentiful. Shotgun ammo, on the other hand... Not plentiful. I pull that out when I need to put down tough enemies like Deathclaws. I'm a hacking talking lockpicking shotgunner guy. I just wish Shotgun ammo was more plentiful.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
