People who don't produce anything until they have your definition of good enough never create anything.

Sometimes, the thing you make has to be "good enough" to just go with.

And people who never create anything? They are the ones who have lost something.

I'll just be over there in the "Loser" club. Beats the hell out of the "Elitist Jerk" club, thanks. GOOD ENOUGH for me.

Good enough status Tai.

Wait... offline games don't have EULAs? When did this happen?

I might be bad at a lot of things but at least I can admit that I won't give on improving myself to establish my goals. It might take longer than the average person but I'm not specializing in one area.

I wouldn't call someone a loser because they're bad at something. There are people that will try to do things their whole life and still continue to suck not because they're lazy (maybe) but because they can't improve. That's like saying someone born who...

isn't as good looking can be the next big super model. It just doesn't happen like that. No matter how hard they might improve theirselves to become the hottest woman on the planet they just cant. Not because they stopped trying because it was never really there to begin with.

I would really like to know this as usually only offline indie games don't have EULAs. I am very intrigued by your definition of "most games".

Tai, you should genetically engineer a perfect human and clone them. That might solve this dilemma. :p

I see the point of all of these sides.

People tend to use "Good Enough" as an excuse to give up something half finished (aka not truly being satisfied with your work) and make other excuses with it (some good , most bad).

But sometimes it may be best to say something is "good enough", if it isn't something you truly care about getting perfect or is sucking up too much of your life.

Although, I will say that excuses are the enemy of getting something done. Some could be really good reasons to give up. But the end result is the same, you either succeeded or failed.

No, Matseb! That way lies the eugenics wars!

Matseb, it'd require Tai being a perfect human.

Which he is not, he's only good enough.

Make us all look like cartman, he's perfect.

Here's the thing about what you are suggesting Tai, if everyone did that then 99% of the population would be underemployed because there just aren't enough skilled jobs needed in the world for everyone to be 'irreplaceable'.

By no means does that mean that you shouldn't do your best at whatever you choose out of life, but I've been the guy who sought perfection and could never settle for lower heights, and I can say with certainty that if I hadn't walke...

In a word, Ozymandius. The bus stops here, on top of you. From one perspective, we're all losers, as none of us are going to hit the goal of perfection. But, I agree that does not give us an excuse to quit. I don't want to put out a game that looks like Eeyore's house...

...walked away from that mentality than by now I'd have taken my own life. Being the best never appealed to me, it just made me miserable and drove me away from what I really wanted in life. It's good that we aren't all meant to be the best because if we were then no one actually could be.

Wisdom, as defined in many different philosophies and religions, across many centuries and cultures, includes the graceful acceptance of reality. Something to keep in mind.

And the reality is that most people don't e.g. have 2 hours to make the perfect soup for their evening meal. Is it tasty? Check. Is it nutritious? Check. Can I make it and still have time to play with my children? Check. Then, while it's not perfect, it's good enough. A lot of life is like that....

...The art of being an adult is to be able to weigh up the multi-faceted costs of doing something and deciding how much effort is required to produce the optimal result. Optimal is not always perfection.

It's insulting to those of us who slave over our creations and attempt to make them perfect when someone else can just say "good enough" *face palm*

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
