Self-sufficient. :p There's a dmon or devil in Dungeons & Dragons which tears off bits of its own flesh and throws it at enemies. Not quite the same as your idea, but it's similar.

Well, yeah actually, there is not a better creature to compare it to, wow. I like the Blobfish, yet again I like most strange animals. You ever hear of an Axolotl?

I love learning about strange lifeforms on our planet, too. I'm pretty sure I've seen that word before. I think it was describing some sort of of snake or lizard, but I'm really not sure - I might actually be thinking of an Aztec deity. xD

Okay, that's insanely cute. It's so alien looking, yet so adorable at the same time. It just looks so happy! :) Sorta looks like something created in Spore.
