The hardest ideas when making a game are the beginning and the end of the game
Beginning boring will make player leaves, and ending boring will let the story like not finished.
A good way to come up with ideas is to focus on the message you want to put across. What is the player going to learn and feel by playing your game? Come up with that theme and the beginning and end should work it's way in.
@Raol I enjoy writing endings, but have always struggled with begnnings. The beginning of a story needs to hook the reader\player, so it's a very important part of the story. Endings don't need to hook the player\reader, but they do need to feel satisfying in some form.
@SpunkyWunky Sound advice. Personally, I think it's very important for a story to contain underlying themes and to focus on certain ideas or concepts. It helps stop the story feeling all over the place, and can really just tie everything together.
