Someone taught me once to evaluate things causing stress/fear reactions with a simple question: Is this something that is going to kill me? If the answer is no, then it's time to grit your teeth and give your best push through. It won't always work, but the more you try, the more likely that you'll succeed. Just don't give up.
Someone told me that once too, but if I'm anxious about something and just grit my teeth next thing I know I'm emptying my stomach all over the place. My mind literally will will my body sick to get out of whatever it is I'm trying to force myself to do. Face something worse though and then the anxiety just seems silly, so having a house fire was oddly one of the best things that ever happened to me.
Fear is often related to the unknown. By trying little by little and getting used to it the fear goes away.
It helps in the beginning to give yourself the right to back away. For example if the fear is to go somewhere, give yourself the right to leave if you're uncomfortable. Feeling trapped only raises the panic and the experience can feel worse. Be your own best buddy and allow yourself to leave if you want.^.^
It's all about expanding your comfort zone. When you hide away out of fear, your comfort zone shrinks even more, and things you could do before, suddenly become scarier. Best thing to do is to challenge yourself gradually by doing things juuuuuust outside of your comfort zone, and once you feel comfortable doing those, go to the next step.
Well, that being the case, you keep right on sharing. I've watched a member of these forums over the past couple years practice art and get up to pretty darn amazing (he disagrees - meh) so just keep practicing and sharing and don't let anyone tell you it's awful. We all scribbled with crayons at some point. Now we're better.
@chungsie I agree, it's the sharing that is tougher. But you're already doing that, so I hope you'll continue! Sometimes we get caught up in the feeling of fear, and don't notice how much we have faced it already. :)
Best of luck in everything^.^
And watching you & other artists share, it encourages and inspires me to share too. So thank you. :kaopride:
