One of my team works part time, so not there, one away overseas on leave, one working from home, and one has been sick all week. That leaves ... me.

Not quite the case at my job. We lost one to heart surgery and one to ACL surgery. But it just feels like everyone I talk to is running shorthand and has for months now.

It's also a function of staffing levels being kept as low as possible so that there is no slack in the system anywhere. One person out, and you're in trouble.

Well, I've logged more hours today than on a regular working day. And I'll be back to do more tomorrow. Hopefully will all be done by lunchtime. The hard bit is finished.
