Some people seem to think that they're allowed to tell devs what to do just because they've bought a game, or a series of games, from them. When the devs do something these "fans" don't like they lash out.

Everyone is harassing everyone these days, the first world's biggest problem is our technology puts the collective knowledge of recorded history at our fingertips but the vast majority of us would rather use that technology to ignorantly attack each other than to bother using it to understand why the things we are attacking each other about occur in the first place or how we might fix them.

Its not just limited to that. I've heard of Star Citizen fans harassing other Star Citizen Fans. It's ridiculous.

@bgillisp They seem to harass other players and what not who criticise the game. It's silly.

I just read articles about Smash Bros creator being harrassed because of waluigi,. One Piece author harrassed because of a wwii reference joke,. Darling Franxx waifu death threat incident, and more to come because they think that they know mucho better just because they found flaws that the author overlooked.

(sorry for bringing this subject up because this scenario is currently happening to me)

@Project CROSS People should respect the direction an author, artist, dev, etc, decides to go in. If they don't like what's happening, then they're free to do something else. Being a fan of something doesn't grant us authority over it. Not liking how a character is portrayed, a joke made, or a theme being used doesn't give us the right to harass others. This should be common sense.

@Project CROSS Sorry it's happened to you. It's not a reflection of you or your work, you're not responsible how someone reacts to what they like/dislike.
Why people do that? The internet has brought this perception to ppl that their opinion matters, much more than it does. Also some individuals have a weird sense of humor(thinking a threat is a 'decent' joke)or they feel superior to tear another apart.Or it's Jealousy.
