Oh, yeah. Mood disorders can definitely cause pain. Strangely, my mood is fine. Y'know a bit irritated but not down at all. I'll go months with them being very episodic and then boom, constant vertigo, syncope, contain pain scaling between 3-8, barf, barf, barf. Try medication, nothing. Try to let it run its course, nothing. Won't go away until boom, gone for three months.

I hope whatever it is, they find the cause. I hope it's just a strange anomaly and goes away.

I hope it's not a symptom of something more serious, @Ms Littlefish. :( I've had really bad headaches before, but nothing that's ever made me feel sick. I've read about something called a cluster headache which sounds terrible; the sharp, burning pain can last up to three hours per episode, and causes swelling around the eye.

I've had migraines since I was 14 so it's nothing new for me, but I didn't start getting this pattern until 4 years ago. I was originally diagnosed with a middle ear infection but middle ear doesn't cause vertigo...

Needless to say, I do not recommend that urgent care. XD

@The Stranger I don't think mine are cluster headaches. I have so many of the classic migraine symptoms. From what I understand, cluster headaches are much shorter and don't often cause the sense sensitivity that migraines do. There are some neurological disorders in my family history so I really just want to get that kinda stuff ruled out. Hoping it's just extra crappy migraines and that they can do more than my GP.

@Ms Littlefish I hope it really is just a nasty migraine. Apparently, they can sometimes be a sign of brain tumours and blood clots. When do you think you'll be able to see a specialist?

I don't think it's anything bad because you don't seem to have any other symptoms (I'm not a doctor though so take my words with a pinch of salt). Have you considered stopping taking coffee? Caffeine can be both a headache trigger and inhibitor, it can vary from person to person and to frequency of dosage.

Caffeine actually helps mine. I even have a medicine from a compounding pharmacy that includes it. But, I always am sure to not exceed recommended amounts due to well...general health.

I tried going without for about 6 months and there was no effect.

Well, I could elaborate on my experience but I was going through a divorce and just super depressed. Ultimately, when I first came here, I had to have surgery a couple of times, for other stuff, but I haven't had a head ache like that since, so maybe 8 months free of head pains? I feel way better than I did.

Oh no! I know how you feel. Last year I got a migraine and it just never went away like it was supposed to. I'm now on a lot of pain medication just to get it to ignorable levels. I hope you have a lot better luck with yours.

hope you get it figured out! I recently went to the neurologist for a similar issue. My migraines are all optical, most of the time.
