I played through a few hours of The Book of Shadows and left my thoughts on its thread: http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?/topic/32221-the-book-of-shadows-chapters-1-and-2/?p=323916
This concludes this round of the secret santa. I don't think I'll be hosting...
I played this game for a few hours and here's my feedback on what I saw:
Why in god's name is this file 712 mb? Figure out a way to cut down your filesize (don't include the files you aren't using), or else you're going to turn off players from playing this game before they've even downloaded...
Bugfix for Tess ver 18.104.22.168
There was a major memory leak in how the game was trying to detect if the player had a gamepad connected in the last release that would most likely bring the player's computer to a grinding halt if they weren't using a gamepad.
The download's been updated to fix...
Now you can play Tess with a gamepad! Details on the gamepad controls have been added to the game's description (and to the included readme file).
ver 22.214.171.124 (October 11, 2014)
+Gamepad support added
You can grab the latest version here.
Sure, we can do another round.
Okay, everyone has finished playing and reviewing their assigned games, so I declare Round 2 officially over.
This means we're beginning Round 3 now. The sign up period begins now and will end on October 10th, 11:59pm UTC time.
Thanks for the review! I do have some questions about some of the comments you made though.
Did you play the entire game with only 1 hand? I normally play with 2 hands myself, one for the arrow keys/movement and one for the jump and shoot buttons. Also the need to jump and shoot at the same...
Tess version 126.96.36.199 released!
You can grab the new version here.
Finally finished putting together this patch.
Achievements have been added to the game now, and are compatible with GameJolt/sync up with GameJolt. Also, “Mirror Mode” was added, which unlocks when you get 5 achievements...
The keys can be changed via the Escape menu, as it says in the OP (and in the readme included with the game).
But I'm glad you enjoyed it! There will most likely be a sequel made, given its warm reception.
Oh whoops the signup period ended yesterday, didn't it.
Round 2's assignments have been posted in the OP. Please play your assigned game and leave a review for the developer by October 7th, 11:59pm UTC.
EDIT: Ok nerd-vs-game ninja'd me here so I have to adjust the matchings now.
If you read the OP it says "The games have been randomly assigned. The play-period will end on September 21st, 11:59PM UTC.", which it has said since the games were assigned.
Also, I'll be entering Round 2, of course.
The play period deadline has passed. The only person who hasn't finished playing/reviewing their assigned game is Nuclear Mosquito. I'm not sure what to do about that, so he won't be allowed to enter again until he finishes the game he was assigned in the first round.
With that, why don't we...
Tweaking/perfecting the platforming physics has been a concern in Tess for awhile now, which I've been working a bit to address. Thanks for the feedback though!
Ver 188.8.131.52 (September 20, 2014)
+Added Portuguese (Português Brasileiro) translation

Another thumb update. The nail is beginning to break away, along with the aforementioned hard and blackened dead skin. The final join has regained some of its flexibility, tho it's a bit stiff after being held still for so long. The very tip of my thumb has a strange dry and somewhat tingly feeling to it when I touch it to something, but at least it isn't numb. I am so ready for this to be over.
