I think it is better for doing little things like a simple script here and there. Much less scope for the code to go wrong and you can test it quickly without hassle.

I have an enemy skill that can be used by multiple enemies in the troop, but it's crucial I determine what troop index the user is.
Note that I don't just want the enemy ID, I am looking for the user's troop index...
