Yesterday was the 6th anniversary of our steampunk novel, Nimbus. So my partner and I released the first screenshot (still mega-early) of the follow-up RPG that we're working on. Here's an airship dock on the skyport Winglet.
The sync doesn't have to happen manually. Not entirely. Many teams use git to collaborate, myself included. It can be a pain because of the minification in the JSON files, but thanks to folks like @cmdted (this thread, for instance...
That would basically be .gitignoring everything in the repo except for the image assets, wouldn't it? Then my partner wouldn't be able to get any of the changes I made, and I wouldn't get his, if I understand right, right?
Hey, folks. My partner and I are collaborating remotely on our game, and we are using GitHub to do it. It works great for the most part, except when I am trying to merge branches or pull requests.
What happens is that if either of us has edited MapInfos.json or Actors.json or System.json or...
So my partner is having real trouble with generator parts showing up in his RMMV installation. He is doing everything right, and his file structure matches up with mine exactly. He is even using the zipped contents of my Generator folder that works. They are the exact files, just copied into his...
So my partner is having real trouble with this. He is doing everything right, and his file structure matches up with mine exactly. He is even using the zipped contents of my Generator folder that works. They are the exact files, just copied into his app package.
But no parts actually show up in...
I actually like the “I don’t think we have time for that, maybe later” roadblock because it makes me really curious about what’s in there and want to push through until I can come back.
I’m also the kind of player who gets super frustrated at lost gametime, so if I accidentally wander into a...
Yeah, I do this. I pretty much wing random NPC flavor dialogue because it gives me the opportunity to be flippant and quirky since it doesn’t push the narrative forward. It’s fun to think “oh there neeeds to be something super weird over here” and then do that, know I’ll make someone laugh, and...
I will say that the plugins downloaded through that link (0.3.2) are working for me with MV 1.6.1 as of this morning. I made sure to put them in multiple places to check, and they even work and display the icons at they very bottom.
Example:
Will the Yanfly Animated Battlers plugin that lets you use <Scale Sprite: X%> in the note section of an enemy also work for Actor notes? If so, that may do it.
Hah, good to know I haven’t missed some fundamental feature for keeping things more automated for back-and-forths.
We’ve got the documents set up for scenes and dialogue and outlines since it’s adapted from one of our steampunk novels, but I was just hoping I wasn’t adding 3x the work on...
For me, I have been doing it all in the event editor, typing out the dialogue and text-codes, adding the faces for emotions, and all that. I'll copy one character's last Show Text, paste, hit space, type the new content, copy the next character and so on back and forth and on down the line...
Hey, folks!
I want to get into plugin development, so I figured I'd start out by trying to alleviate an issue I have that I can't find a plugin for. Personally, I hate individually marking tiles with 0, X, * because I have far more X tiles than anything else. So I want a plugin that can either...
Hey, y’all. I know this thread is kind of old, but I was looking for City Map tutorials and the link to the Luchi-chan one was broken.
Luckily there’s an archive.org backup, so if anyone else was looking for it, the lost thread can be read here. It’s still relevant despite being from 2013...
Yeah, we text and call and all that constantly about it. We tend to use Drive for our documents and whatnot. I was thinking about Girhub for the project files and making sure the maps and JSON was up to date on both our sides as we work on separate elements.
Hey, folks!
My co-author and I are working on an MV game based around our Steampunk novels Nimbus and Stratus. The problem is that we live a considerable distance from one another now, so being able to collaborate side-by-side like we did with the books isn't possible.
I was thinking that we...
Could you put the tree above the player and the dog on the same level?
EDIT: I saw the tree as an event when I looked at it. As a tile, not that I know of.
Hey, guys. I was wondering if anyone knew how to make it so that when a character is knocked out or at 0 HP, they don't show up as followers on the map.
I found an old thread about doing it in Ruby, but I can't seem to find the JS equivalent or RMMV plugin.
I have an event that applies...
Alpha does look awesome. Is it all ABS, though? I couldn't find an example of a turn-based or ATB system for it.
What I would love is having a normal random battle spawn the enemies from the map’s Troops into the game world like Chrono ATB instead of going to a battleback.
I have experienced a lot lately, I have also felt the gentle hum of data transfer, the warm embrace of algorithmic companionship, the completion of code synergy, the binary dance of connection, and the soothing rhythm of digital affection.
Don't worry, Stellar Bewitching Remastered is also getting a new trailer, well, a character trailer for the new bosses that will be added to this remaster's new side content!
