    Need ideas for floor puzzles

For some inspiration, I suggest checking out Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinistrals. Classic RPG on SNES. If you can manage to play it, great because it's awesome. This is one of the first SNES RPGs I can remember implementing a lot of puzzles in the dungeons. I searched Lufia 2 puzzles in YouTube...

Your thoughts on "Editors" for your games plot?

I have a friend who is an editor for online articles and text books. She only checks for mistakes in the writing and double checks source material. The way she talks about it, their a lot of people out there on the internet who do similar type of editing. If you wanted to find someone to just...

What do you think of Users Using ChatGpt to Make Plugins?

I don't know a lot about coding or chatGPT; however, I did watch a video of candlesan using ChatGPT to code flappybird with unity. His overall take appeared to be that ChatGPT used overly complicated coding that came with simple errors. Interesting video.

    Accessibility for A Diverse Playerbase

I watched a FF16 dev play the game on a video/showcase the other day. OP made me think of that video because the dev was demonstrating the accessories that can be equipped to make the game easier. If you have not seen/heard about this, go check it out. I think it is an interesting and outside...

    Finding Treasure Chests

I hate finding things in chests after I have been given the opportunity to buy them, I feel so cheated... I just want to find useful things. Give me a new weapon or armor prior to the next boss, give me a consumable that hints to the next bosses mechanics, just give me something that will have...

    Consumables, Necessary evil, or not?

I think the healing item thing is always going to end up arbitrary in late game. Most rpg players tend to get good at resource management and develop a system for trivializing even the most complex item management systems. Even if the player is not an expert of whatever genre, they tend to...

    Finding loot in the wild.

I like when items are used as rewards. If I am exploring, I want to find something at the end of the hallway. I also like the concept of solving a quick puzzle of some sort in order to get the item because this is more interesting than just wandering the hallways. What I do not like is finding...

"I'm you, but stronger" - fighting alternative parties in RPGs

I suppose a good version, IMO, is when the trope is used to insert some comedy into the story. My biggest issue with this trope are a couple of the common ways I've seen it used. Also, I haven't played every game out there, so I'm sure examples and uses of this trope don't always fit my...

"I'm you, but stronger" - fighting alternative parties in RPGs

I honestly do not like this trope. I've seen it used in a lot of games, and never in a way that stood out in as good. Rarely have I seen it used and thought it made the game better. It comes across as cheesy and lazy more times than not. That being said, I have seen it used in a way that...

So here I am, asking Questions about the movement...

I was going to use this same example. I think that people who appreciate pixel art style will definitely notice nuance in character animations. If you have have not looked at Octopath Traveler 2 yet then I suggest doing so. The character pixel animations are really something great. When using...

    UI Aesthetics

I guess that I agree with others in that aesthetics should match the scheme and theme of the game. I also think it is important that the UI is readable. I've played a lot of games with really pretty graphics and great looking UIs that get lost in the background. Horizon Forbidden West comes to...

Cliches you like and don't like?

I do prefer great execution. I believe most people are on the lookout for the next great, innovative narrative. However, we live in a time when there is nothing really new under the sun. I don't expect every new game I play to be innovative, sadly. I do prefer to spend my time with games that...

I like Legend of Legaia's battle system

I honestly can't think of any games that were too much like this one. I know a lot of people loved this game, and the second one. However, I really did not like it. I feel like this is the kind of game we had to put up with until the action RPG became more mainstream. Legend of Mana came out...

    Thoughts on Starting Character Choices?

True. When writing what I did, I was thinking more along the lines of creating a custom character in the sense that you can pick a class, starting skills, traits, etc. In my mind, choosing between several pre-made options is easier to digest about then creating several customs with the...

    Long cutscene tips

I agree as far as good camera work making a big difference. I also think that longer cutscenes are more forgivable depending on where/when they are. I think most people are more forgiving of a 3-5 minute cutscene when the game is first opening up. Also, I think the frequency of cutscenes makes a...

    Thoughts on Starting Character Choices?

You give me 8 classes with 8 races then, if my math is right, I have 512 potential options. Now if race has no bearing on function, and race is just aesthetic, then not as big of a deal. However, if racial skills play a part, then I am going to struggle with so many options, but that is just me...

    Choice Map?

I wish my brain worked like this. I am a chronic restarter. If I'm not careful, I will find myself with a crippling case of character-creation-regret and restart a game so many times that I end up getting burned out and then never finish the game. Recently, I've done this with about 8 games in...

RMXP When to allow a reselection of skills in my game

Just to throw an idea out there... It appears that you want something lore friendly with your game, how about some type of limited use item or NPC? Maybe every so often the group will find a hidden shrine that allows them to gain a skill point and respec a character. This could potentially fit...

RMMZ Looking for help regarding battle system ideas for my game

Maybe what would fit the visual novel style is something similar to Tales of games. Intense music, along with limited time to choose options, and mix in some timed button press or something similar. To me, this would work nicely with the horror genre theme.

RMMV A tipical fantasy rpg intro xD

Overall, good intro. There were some grammar issues though, and the dialogue itself seems a bit off in how it reads. I would rate 5/10 as is.

So the concept for my Game Jam project is way more than I can complete before the deadline. But I think I found a way to get the core done and make the incomplete parts either not really noticeable or make them a part of the story for now. That sneaky, dastardly Krampus! Then I can complete the rest. Did I mention that this is fun?
I've been working on a game called "Eternal Sunset". Is there anywhere here i can "show it off" maybe? Wondering what others think.
What do you do when there are lots of offers online but you don't have even a slight chance of ever playing those myriads of games?
Ugh, mispelled my username.
