For my project, I changed all of the stats to traditional TRPG attributes, like ATK becomes Strength, DEF becomes Vitality, MAT becomes Intellect, etc.
However, I want to avoid equipment increasing these stats, because that doesn't make sense. Why would holding a sword increase your strength...
I'm trying to make a State that gives a character the ability to Counterattack enemy hits. However, the intended drawback of such an ability is that the user is becoming more vulnerable to damage in that state.
By default, RMVXA includes an automatic 'evasion" whenever Counterattack...
In battle you use the Left and Right arrow keys to select an enemy to be targeted. However, due to the way the game organizes enemies, the letter suffixes don't align with the order in which you target them.
In battle, I have my enemies organized based on an invisible grid. Like so:
The...
It was conflict with Fomar's ATB script, but it turned out to be a load order issue. However, it still has about a 2-second "hang" whenever an action is executed. Though that's minor, and presumably something that can be fixed later down the line.
I looked at Tankentai battle system, but to be...
Apologies for disappearing for a few weeks, I got sick and then hit a roadblock in designing my game, so I took a break to clear my head and focus on other work.
So, I tried Reedo's script, and to be honest it didn't really suit my needs. I'd like to be able to change the sprite for the actor...
I had looked at and was pleased with Victor's script. However, I use several Yanfly scripts including Ace Core Engine. I'm wary of it being too much of a pain to have to switch over.
Before Galv's, I was using Yanfly's Visual Battlers, though it was pretty basic. Would that one be out of the...
This is probably a big request, but I'm not experienced with scripting, and figured I'd post this here to see if anyone would be willing to help or give advice.
Anyway, I'm using Galv's Animated Battlers to add animations to my side-view battle system. However, there are a few things I need it...
Fear & Hunger has some pretty horrific enemy designs. I particularly found the Sylvian and Traces of Gro-Goroth to be really cool looking. Very lovecraftian-inspired but without the cliche'd "oh my god tentacles, I'm losing my mind" thing.
Warning for those who don't know about it, that game...
Yanfly's Ace Core Engine script lets you resize the window by 2x, 3x, and 4x the scale with the F6 key. It preserves the resolution, and doesn't blur or stretch anything.
If I recall correctly, Ace is kind of notoriously strict about screen size. As Andar said, the maximum is 640x480. Ace is...
So, I have run into a new issue that doesn't produce an error. In battle, you can't seem to use any action at all. I'm certain it's a conflict with an edited version of Fomar0153's ATB script. Here's the script, but I'm at a bit of a loss.
Sorry to keep adding on stuff lol. If this is too much...
Yeah, but in that case what happens when you use the transmute spell, and it doesn't kill the enemy? The Switch is only turned off when the common event triggers.
Every other skill would also have to have to handle the Switch and toggle it off so that it doesn't trigger the transmute event as well.
I realized recently since my game is still a turn based game, that something like the card game Yomi is a lot closer to what I should try to aim for combat wise. Should also help for those who don't really play fighting games to make things a bit easier to understand. ugh the struggles of trying to show love for my 2 favorite genres in 1 go lol.
Holy crap, it's cold. Our heat went out this morning and the repair guy won't get the part needed to fix it at least until tomorrow. Had to be now of all times, when we have stuff to do all week and it's the coldest night of November so far.
I have invented a new food: soupie!
It is soup-pie! It's what happens when you try to make a pie, and it turns out super gooey and falls apart and you need a spoon to eat it! Soupie! Said like sue-pie. Not soupy - oh just let me eat my sad apple pie
