Thank you so much! I actually already created a suitable event for what I needed, took me like 6 hours and it is functional so I'm content with it. But this will definitely be useful in any future games I make!
What do you mean MV "stigma"?
Woooow I'm dense.
Anyway, I tried to implement it but it gave me an error message and crashed the game whenever I tried to add an ingredient.
Here's where I added it in, right after the prompt to pick an item.
But as soon as any item is picked, the game shows this:
I'm sorry, I was sure I had posted this in script requests already.
Thank you! Do you have any advice as to how to implement it? What does the 53 refer to? After all these years scripts of any kind are still very confusing to me.
I wanted each page to be a specific image that I drew, not just something that displays text but rather something I could shift around and add details to like ink blots, blood and water stains. So I know I needed to use the show/erase pictures for that. I'm not sure if what you're saying would...
I'm creating a potion making system in my game confined to a single event tile. It's going to allow the player to select anything from key items to add into the cauldron, whether or not it's the correct one in the correct order to make a specific potion. I'm using Select Key Items for this with...
Isabella Ava was right there must have been something wrong with the switch, because I literally just changed that switch to 353 and it works just fine. Tested it forward and back every possible option, it works just like I want it to.
Well I was doing something wrong, using a switch that was...
After hours and hours and hours of trying to get this darn book paging event to work, it works perfectly except that when the entire event is over and it gets to either "erase event," "exit event processing" or "jump to label: close book", the entire game completely freezes.
The "close book"...
I didn't know their scripts were seen as incompatible. I've only ever seen one glitch in my game that was completely unsolvable, so I just redid the scene.
I'm gonna try this in a new project file without any of these scripts and see what happens. The only other thing I can think to do after...
I have 39 user scripts...
Honestly at this point choices might be the only way to do this because scouring through each one of these (some are a couple lines long, but still) is probably not even worth the trouble...
I was wondering if it were possible to create a script where if there was no text box, choices would be at the bottom of the screen.
Then without the text box:
(Obviously I just photoshopped these)
Thank you very much for your time.
Does that mean that whenever this ends up working, if someone holds down the left or right button it'll just flip through the pages extremely fast? I'd rather it just be one page at a time so they wouldn't accidentally miss something
Removed the wait, no difference. When I remove the loop...
It did not :c I actually didn't know about the button prompt... I have no idea how I didn't since it's right above the script box, and for that matter I have no idea why the person who suggested the script feature for previous puzzles of mine they didn't just tell me to use the button thing...
How should I set up the loop and break loop with what I already have?
And it is true that I hadn't set up a "close book" action into the contents yet, I was trying to first see if the page turning would work.
I'm obviously doing something wrong. With this, all it does now is activates...
The flaming skeleton visited me in my dreams again. He demands the game be finished soon. I don't like the flaming skeleton. He took my cranberry juice. He doesnt even have a stomach it just spilled all over the floor.
My Game Jam entry is a bunch of mini games wrapped within an epic story that will rival the deepest plots of the earliest CRPGs! As a small spoiler, here is one example of a game you will be able to play. Anyone want to try Brat, Krampus, Santa?
The Open Hand scandal got even more spicy. The Completionist streamer Jirard made a video response and tossed a bunch of links and documents, but apparently none of it actually addressed why donations he collected sat for 10 years (way too long to justify). He also seemed to threaten defamation suits vs. people for what amounts to pointing out publicly available records. The IRS should definitely audit.
