Hello there all っ╹v╹ )っ !

In July of 2019 I discovered RPGMaker MV and with it, my passion for making games. After playing for a while in it and getting to know it, I decided I wanted to give myself a challenge (I love challenges) and have some fun with the engine. And so, I ended up making 1 game a day for 1 month (there's actually 33 games haha).

Note: The initial project was supposed to be for 365 days, but after finishing the 1st month, I made a new friend, discovered we both are making games and love it, and so (after brainstorming and realizing that we work well together) decided to give the 365 project a go as a team.

I am open to any sort of questions regarding my one month adventure, critiques regarding the games - anything (honestly, I just love people giving feedback and starting a conversation >.<)!

Another Note: There are a few games which I had to hide due to the site being PG -13 , so if you want to check those games out, follow the link underneath !

All the games can be found here: Link

Day 18 / 8.25.2019

The hard reality that you are faced with in some circumstances (e.g. at work, home, with parents, and so on) can have you do certain things you wouldn't want to. This game is not about that, but it can be.

Day 14 / 8.21.2019

This game can be used as a magic trick. The aim of the game is to guess the spectators thought of number (a number between 1-10).

Here is how it works:

[hide]You have a parallel event with the following instructions:

First time you press:

Left Arrow = Numbers 1-3
Down Arrow = Numbers 4-6
Right Arrow = Numbers 7-9

Second time you press:

The numbers are placed on the arrows from left to right. So, if you press left first, you go in the 1-3 bracket, after which, if you press left = 1, down = 2 and right = 3. Same applies to the other brackets.

Wanted to make the system so it's easy to remember.

The game is made so you can press these buttons fast and it will register your commands.

Best moment to press the button is during dialogue. Your hand is naturally on the keyboard, pressing enter to forward the dialogue, and after your friend names the number, you can insert it as you are reading the text.[/hide]

Replay function is installed.

Day 13 / 8.20.2019

I wanted to make another game which you can use to fool your friends.

This time, you are a child faced with 3 doors. You friend names one of them and it turns out to be the only door that will open. The game restarts itself, in order to be able to repeat the feat in as many ways as you wish, so as to prove wrong all assumptions.

Here is how it works:

You have a parallel event with the following instructions:

Left Arrow = Left Gate
Up Arrow = Middle Gate
Right Arrow = Right Gate

The event registers the first arrow you push upon entering the gate room.

The way I did it to friends was I had them control the character and paid attention to which arrow they pressed first and then guessed the door that will be open. Another way I did it was have them name a door, which would turn out to be the only opened one (but I control the character).

Have fun with this, play around with the idea and even create your own games to fool others with :) !

Day 12 / 8.19.2019

You are a lost boy in search of another land.

Or... wait. What are you searching, again ?

A puzzle game where you have to use the obvious to uncover the hidden.

Credits: Asset Set by The Mighty Palm and Ashlands by finalbossblue

Download Link: https://rpgmaker.net/games/11233/downloads/10823/

Day 11 / 8.18.2019

A game where you burn sh*t in hell. Literally.

Ok, ok. There might be some philosophy in there as well.

It is a puzzle game, in the end :)

Credits: Asset Set by The Mighty Palm and Ashlands by finalbossblue

Download Link: https://rpgmaker.net/games/11233/downloads/10821/

Day 10 / 8.17.2019

A puzzle game about resetting and how it's cool to start from scratch, in order to put together a piece of information.

Find the hidden sentence and get to know a very intimate moment from my life.

Credits: Asset Set by The Mighty Palm.

Download Link: https://rpgmaker.net/games/11233/downloads/10820/

Day 9 / 8.16.2019

With this one I was inspired by Pen and Teller's unreleased video-game, "Smoke and Mirrors". I wanted to make a game which you can use to fool your friends.

In this game, 4 colors appear on screen. Your friend chooses one of the colors and upon clicking on the switch (the lever), all of the colors except his chosen one will turn to black.

Here's how it works.

[hide]Down = Red
Up = Blue
Left = Green
Right = Purple

You secretly push one of these buttons when your friend names out which color he wants. Make it so he doesn't see you push it. A variable will be registered and when you click the switch, the magic will happen.

To reset the game, click on any of the black tiles (that were colored before). You can execute the game twice. I thought 2 times is enough before they catch unto what you are doing.

Have fun :) ! This sort of concept can be expanded upon. So, if any of you devs like the concept, play around with it and see what game you can come up with so you can fool your friends with it.[/hide]

Day 8 / 8.15.2019

Languages Used: Japanese, English and Romanian. You can complete the game as long as you know English.

A puzzle platformer where your mission is to find a villagers rat.

Credits: Asset Set by The Mighty Palm.

Download Link: https://rpgmaker.net/games/11233/downloads/10812/

Day 7 / 8.14.2019

You wake up in a cinema. There's a movie on screen. You catch the ending of it.

Credits: Asset Set by The Mighty Palm.

Download Link: https://rpgmaker.net/games/11233/downloads/10807/

Day 6 / 8.13.2019

To worry or not to worry?

That is the question.

Disclaimer: This game includes mention and use of drugs, so if you want to play it, go to the official page and search for the game :)

Day 5 / 8.12.2019

You are a god named One_Word_Man. With the use of one appropriate word you can make people's wishes come true. Slight knowledge of N5 Japanese Vocab. required. For those of you that do not want to bother with the japanese part, here are the answers to the 4 doors

Door 1: mori
Door 2: te-buru and isu
Door 3: otokonohito
Door 4: bakushu

Credits: Asset Set by The Mighty Palm.

Download Link: https://rpgmaker.net/games/11233/downloads/10801/

Day 4 / 8.11.2019

I feel like I've repeated this scenario so many times hahaha. The destination is so easy to get, but still, the universe has other "plans" for you. This game has come out of that event that always seems to occur when you want to do something.

Credits: Asset Set by The Mighty Palm and my friends (for not letting me make my initial game - love you guys).

Download Link: https://rpgmaker.net/games/11233/downloads/10800/

Day 3 / 8.10.2019

This game is called, "The Turkish Etiquette". I got inspired to create this game after talking with some of my friends. It felt so nice transforming something such as a hospitality custom into a game.

Credits: Asset Set by The Mighty Palm and Piano song by Joey Pecoraro (Everything I could never tell you)

Download Link: https://rpgmaker.net/games/11233/downloads/10799/

Day 2 / 8.9.2019

There's this game I love doing to people in real life and I wanted to transform in an actual playable game. It's short, but it'll give you some food for thought if you don't know it.

For those of you that have been a scout when they were a kid, you might know this.

Credits: Asset Set by The Mighty Palm

Download Link: https://rpgmaker.net/games/11233/downloads/10798/

Day 1 / 8.8.2019

I tried to make something that hints at what you have to accomplish through subtle things, without having to explain what you have to do.

Slight knowledge of the Japanese Lang. is necessary to figure out how to choose the right answer (BUT, it's not essential to finishing the game).

Impressive!

Especially to keep the streak going for so long. I can imagine there probably were days were you had to work/study/do stuff but you still managed to make something. Very inspiring.

I remember your stuff from RMN, and am glad you're also a user of The Mighty Pack. I intend to get around to at least a few of these games sometime; it seemed an ambitious project indeed, and am glad you got in a month of minigames. :)

OHMYGOD. This just filled my heart with so much happiness. That was one of the games that took the most time haha. And it was so satisfying to work on something that someone can use to draw.

Thank you for your drawing. It has made my day!

Crazy how productive you were! Most people won't finish one game in their life ;)
A full game takes a long time. I have mad respect for anyone who finishes a game that takes more than 1 hour to finish. These are all mini-games, so I wouldn't compare these to what most people are trying to do. The aim with these was not to get too ambitious so that I could do them each day :)

Thank you very much for the kind words!

Thank you for the wonderful words :) !! I made the game while having a full time job and a part time job in the weekends. I was trying to prove to myself that if I really wanted to do something, I could. Meanwhile, I also was studying for the Japanese JLPT exam, so my day was pretty jam-packed. Still, it never felt like it was tiring me - the idea of making a game every day. It was so thrilling discovering RPGMV and the entire programming process. It just filled me up with so much energy! The more I had to do each day, the more I felt like I had to man up and not give up.

A famous writer once said in a Master Class that when you are starting out as a writer, it's best to write poems / short stories - something that you can finish quick so you get that satisfaction to keep going. So, since I was just learning RPGMV, I thought mini-games would be the best to fuel my drive.

The Mighty Pack is the sh*t haha. I love his packs. They are so playful.

I would love to hear your opinion about some of these mini-games! If I remember correctly, you had the same profile pic on RMN?

Having a full month of mini games is def nice, but I really wanna get back in the game and start programming again. It's such an amazing thing to create something people can play. I can feel the kid inside me just dancing and running around yelling "I CAN MAKE GAMES" haha.

I agree that that's the best feeling ever!

Have you thought about making a larger game that incorporates some of your mini-games? You can use them as a launching board to make a larger world.

This was my first idea after I finished the project! So happy someone else had it. Confirms that it can be a good idea.

Thought about creating a game that revolves around an indie mini-game convention where you're the main character and go through the game-con in search for clues regarding the disappearance of people that attend thy game-con.

If I do the project for 365 days and end up with 400 mini-games, I think I make a pretty big game-con simulator :D

Though a belated reply: Eli, I adore that game concept! It seems a good way to mesh minigames into a story-driven project, and I like the mystery element thrown in to drive the story. It's like Mario Party with a plot, but better. I'm excited for this and wish you the best of luck in creating it. As for your games, I'm still bogged down on stuff I need to do, but will tackle at least a couple by no later than Wednesday?

This made my day. When I do it for 365 days, then it'll be a scoop for sure.

Means a lot coming from you man. You've got quite some bad ass games under your belt.

Alrighty, decided to get to it and played six of the games. My brief thoughts on the ones I did are below.

Day 3: Neat game, but I think two things in the game are broken? I can't interact with the guard at all, and can also walk onto the sink?

Day 4: I'm curious if the end game time is based on how many friends you interact with? Still, a valid lesson to know.

Day 7:
Dungeon speakeasy? Wish I saw more of the movie. :p

Day 20: Had no idea I had to click on the enemies' corpses at first.
Also a missed opportunity to cannibalize the pig-like orc >_>

Day 23: Got the Heaven ending on my play.
Why the hell I wanted to bare children for those asking weirdos in the first place is beyond me; I'm not fond of the thought of having kids. ^^;

Day 30: It's a door. Hi, door. Uhhhh... I didn't get any of the questions it was supposed to allegedly ask?

There's a catch to Game No. 3 . You must pick up the carrots and then do something with them :) #wink #wink . Then you will be able to talk with the guard. At the end of the game you learn about the Turkish Etiquette.

Game No.4 : I think it is haha. If I remember correctly.

Game No.7 Would be dope to make a movie in RPGMaker. Just like Bandersnatch.

Game No. 20 Much of the games points revolve around discovery. I don't assign new buttons, so as not to make it impossible to find out, but I do play around with the idea of clicking on stuff as a THING hehe

Day No. 23 WOW. You got the Heaven Ending. Impressed. It was a throwback to Adam and Eve. You were Eve. They were all Adam haha. You had to populate the world.

Game No. 30 You are the door. The door does not speak. It's more of an abstract game. The only thing a door can do is open and close. You are there as the player to answer your own questions about (not only the game but) yourself (this also makes a reference to me as the creator - I was there to answer my own questions regarding what the game meant for me. And having come to the 30th day of the project, it felt as if I had a door in front of me, this door of making games, and I could either open it or look at it :) ).

Easter Egg: All games connect to Game No. 6

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
