RPG Maker Forums

Hi community,

So I've got an ambitious project around in my head since I watched the film Two Popes. The current Pope was a member of the Company of Jesus, or jesuits. That order had a huge impact during south america's colonization period, particularly in Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina and a bit of Brazil. They set up "reductions", where they would teach the natives about the catholic god, but also would teach them to work the land, to heard cattle and also some art, like pottery. They had buit impressive communities, sheltering more than 40000 natives in some locations. You could say they protected them from being enslaved by groups of Portuguese slave traffickers.
This is something we learn here in school as kids, alongside with some interesting legends. I figured it might be a fantastic background for an RPG. I also intend to make it slightly educational, in the sense that I want it historically authentic.
However, I suppose most of the graphic resources will have to be crafted form scratch. I had a look around and not much from the that period could be found, let alone something specific like native tribes from South America.
So I'm filing this in the hopes you can point me where to find such resources, or if you have something similar I can build on.

This is something I will be actually working on next year, so no rush.

Resource Type: Generator parts for natives: feather work on tiaras, earings, necklaces and armbands; face paintings in red and black.
Also adventurers known as "bandeirantes" as in the pictures: hats and clothing.

Maker Format: MV

Art Style: I'd like it to be RTP-like for two reasons: first it is targeted to children and the style is friendly; second I plan to use the character generator for the characters.

Description: as stated in resource type

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
