Sorry for the wait on results, those who have asked for it. The wait is probably due to the large amount of people asking and the people in charge having to tally everything up and get lists together as well a juggle real life. Sometimes things get busy. Sorry about that and thank you for waiting patiently so far. Please just hang on a bit more if you're still waiting. ^.^
No problem.
Alright. For those that want to share their official feedback, there is a thread for it:
http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?/topic/32706-post-your-judging-scores-here/
This contributes to transparency and to the clarification of the judging process for the participants of future installments of the contest -- wouldn't you like to have known this kind of information before you entered this one?
Dear @Kryzon, how exactly does it contribute to transparency?
No offence, but this really looks like a perfect thread topic for drama queen infestation.
And this is something that should not happen don't you think?
I am not calling YOU a drama queen. Don't get me wrong.
English is not my first language, so if something seems rude spare me.
I have good intentions.
It just feels like... a drama bait topic to me.
Posting any response you take from the judges would be nice thread really, but it should be, in my humble opinion, under a different spirit.
Not for transparency but more for educational reasons.
Your idea is nice, just with another point of view dont you think?
My apologies if I upset anyone, but when I read a sentence starting like "This contributes to transparency"
it is like the autor assumes that there is a NEED for more transparency.
Why? It's almost like telling everyone that, "You know what... something is wrong. Someone was unfair. Here is my personal dramatic contribution."
It is REALLY REALLY hard to be fair and square when judging a game.
What I read on the results was satisfying, congratualtions again to the winners.
The ONLY thing that was
not transparent, was some sudden votes for some games that never had a chance to have such a number of votes,
BUT if anyone cheated back then I was sure that they would not win. How was I sure? Well...
IT WAS ANNOUNCED! And that is what happened. Non transparent were some users. Not the Judge team. Not to mention that Ars Harmonia crushed them anyway. Good game.
Look, I participated too. I did not win any big prize.
I might had different opinion on which game was best blah.. blah, but that's it. EVERYONE has his/her biased opinion.
STILL I feel a winner, for playing such awesome games, participating on a world wide competition, sharing ideas, and starting and finishing one project.
I also get some feedback by email that made me really happy I made my game for everyone. I am more than satisfied. Really.
So such a thread should be promoted and intended to share knowledge instead of "transparency".
Seriously it sounds dramatic as it is.
Just my opinion.
Cheers.
EDIT:
I would love to contribute what mistakes I did according to judges.
What I mostly asked though was final position.
Nothing more.
PS:
I mentioned a few times in the forums that it would have been nice to have a few more frequent progress updates. Once judging neared an end, you and the other judges were very kind about telling folks what had happened in the past as well as what was left to accomplish, but these updates were absent for the majority of the three month period. Something as simple as a weekly report of "this week we judged X games, meaning we've judged Y in total and have about Z to go." This way people can at least take comfort in the fact that progress is being made on a regular basis.
You got a point.
This is irrelevant though, to the feedback posting transparency contribution concept.
