@Miffy: That's a screenshot from the first pack.  Think of it as a tile pack with some characters.  This new one is a character pack with some tiles.

If you could choose any one musician to compose exclusive music for your projects, who would you choose and why?

I really like what Jesper Kyd does with his compositions. I like music that feels organic, almost as if it's part of the scenery. He nails that.

Of course, I haven't heard from any of the RPG Maker community's musicians, though I certainly hope to play through some games and listen to some soundtracks when I'm done with my own project. Maybe I have a kindred soul in the community!

@Miffy: Oh, I didn't draw it.  I've got a Halloween expansion for it in the works that will probably be out September next year and I've done some tiles for it for Members+, but these are made by Despain.

I would have to say Amy Lee of Evanescence. Not only does she have an amazing singing voice she plays piano and harp.

If I could choose somebody to compose music for my games, it would be my neighbors, Corinne and Dylan. They are brother and sister musicians, and Dylan, is a composer. Their younger brother is one of my good friends.

Oh wow, these are all great.

Probably Two Steps from Hell. They do a lot of awesome music for cinema, and some cinematic tracks in general.

Ok I will particiapte too on that giveaway.

I don't wanna undermine any other artist or pack.

My opinion is just my opinion and totally biased.

If it is one  music composer I really REALLY appreciated  J Stewart (JSM FUTURISTIC MUSIC PACK).

Crystal clear quality.

Good music composition skills.

Correct mixdown.

Not too complex, neither minimalistic.

Catchy.

Appropriate for video games.

His music is almost like what I do, for my games or my leisure so he has the same taste as I do.

I can understand his great work and effort, including my personal taste bias...

For me... if it's only one, it's J Stewart. ;)

FOR ME.

I do modern day RPGs though.

PS:

I don't own his music, but listened to all the music demo.

Since I write music myself I don't need such assets.

BUT if I wanted on of them that would be the one I  mentioned!

Nobuo Uematsu.  Yes, this is probably a default answer for many, but it's been my childhood dream to create a game with Nobuo Uematsu composing music.

I recently had a chance to meet him during a Final Fantasy Distant Worlds Contest.  I told him that I was a game designer, and he asked, "Oh, you make games?  You'll give me a job?" to which I can only say, absolutely.

Life goal was solidified at that point, and meeting him really inspired to push myself with my projects.  I feel Aesparia - The Fallen wouldn't of came out as great if I hadn't had an inspiration like that.

Oooh nice new packs :D

As for the question: If you could choose any one musician to compose exclusive music for your projects, who would you choose and why?

Without a doubt in my mind: Hans Zimmer. I really love his film scores and I actually have a few film OSTs with his music on it. He just conveys the mood, the atmosphere perfectly in his score. He actually made a few game scores already.

The download links for Tales of the Far East do not work.

I have the item in my Client Area purchases but you can't click to download the RPG Maker and easy listening (.ogg, .mp3 and .flac formats) and the download for IG Maker (.wav) files.

I've checked the settings, and everything seemed ok from my end. I've re-done the links just in case, though.

Can you please try refreshing the page and checking if the links work now?

If I'd choose a composer it would be either Yoko Shimomura or Nobuo Uematsu, mostly because I love games that they've composed music for, but also because they are such amazing composers. Joe Hisashi is also a top pick for me, as I love the movie soundtracks he's composed.

If I'd chosen a band instead it would be Gorillaz, because they can do anything and still make it sound good.

I think their older stuff was better but eh. Would certainly be interesting though.

Ooh new goodies, I might check out Tales of the East.

Hmm, quite a difficult question considering I can't help but love so much of the music provided by this community (Both Commercial and Non-Commercial). I have listened to several excellent pieces, and when I read this question I felt I should choose somebody who has made music for RPG Maker in mind and a few artists come to mind like Aaron Krogh I have used some of his music before and I still think one of my favorite pieces of his that I still want to use for my main project is his piece "Lost" which just speaks to me in someway, and when I was listening to it, a whole scene was just painted in my mind involving my characters.

However Aaron is the runner up for me because there are many pieces written by Sinakhai that just do that and more for me, I can't quite describe it, I just feel inspired whenever I listen to the music. (Though to be perfectly honest, I don't seem to have to look far for inspiration, I once came up with a whole intricate plot for a series of games after listening to Ylvis' "What does the Fox Say" so that might say something about me.) Overall though I love his music, so far one of my favorite pieces of his to this day is probably "Clockwork Lullaby" that or maybe "Pillars of Chaos" or perhaps even "The Shadow in the Ice" (The Piano version sounds best to me.) honestly I just can't decide among all of his work.

So if I had to choose it'd be Sinakhai or Aaron Krogh.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
