Oh interesting stuff released! :)
More nostalgic graphics and also great music and ambience sounds, great stuff as always :D

Answering the question "If you could choose any one musician to compose exclusive music for your projects, who would you choose and why?" , although people have mentioned already is definetly Nobuo Uematsu. His pieces can inspire a lot of different emotions and feelings, just one music can say so much about that one character or that one scene/situation that the characters are living at the time. His music can be so much part of the game as a character itself, yet remaining subtle in the background and gradually making it's way into the dialog as if speaking to the player, transmiting to the fullest the heart of the story, to me it feels as if the music is giving a narrative even. I love many other composers, however it was his music that has and still does inspire my creativity and is the hand on my back pushing me forward towards my dreams.

So much more I'd like to say but I think I've taken too much speech already :D

Thanks,

you fixed it when you re-did the links.

I've checked the settings, and everything seemed ok from my end. I've re-done the links just in case, though.

Can you please try refreshing the page and checking if the links work now?

Wow, these look great! <3 Thanks everyone for working so hard!

As for a musician, I choose Scythuz (If we are limited to RM). The reason being is he was the first artist on this forum to really catch my eye on music. After my son passed away, he took the time out of his day to ask me how I was, and although we did not continue with my commission, he still finished all of the tracks. He is a great guy, and I would want to thank him in that way by being able to write his name down on my credits if my game(s) ever become a hit.

I would chose Motoi Sakuraba, I just love all of his compositions for videogames, specially the ones made for star ocean/Valkyrie Profile and Baten Kaitos, they have this ummm, "medieval" sense to it... I love it!

If I could have one person to compose for me, if I didn't compose my own work ofc, It would also have to be Nobuo Uematsu if it was restricted to RM Musicians, all of them are pretty amazing, but to me Ms Littlefish would be my choice! The ideas she comes up with is something I always enjoy listening to!

The musician I would pick would be obviously Nobuo Uematsu (or Masashi Hamauzu).  He produces music for my favorite RPG franchise, and he even made masterful songs for my favorite game (Final Fantasy X).  I mean, just listen to this:

That song was originally composed by Nobuo Uematsu, but the remastered version (which I presented) was arranged by Masashi Hamauzu.  Of course, Masashi Hamauzu did some great original pieces too.  For example, another great song (that is by Masashi Hamauzu) would be "Wandering Flame:"

Together (which isn't what was truly asked), they form the ultimate composition group!  Man, I love Final Fantasy's music, and that goes triple for Final Fantasy X's music (remastered or not).

I can't express it properly on the internet but thanks, you have no idea how much that means to me, seriously.

You'll have to duel me for her first!  On the inevitable day when we both go deaf from making more awesome music than the world can handle it'll be pistols at dawn! You can pick the venue haha :D

packs look nice, and sound nice haha but for my give away entry...

If you could choose any one musician to compose exclusive music for your projects, who would you choose and why?

I would have to choose Miki Higashino because she composed for my favorite rpg game of all time Suikoden 2.

I absolutely love the music featured in both Suikoden and Suikoden 2 and I feel like she would be able to capture the emotion and power of the scenes I play out in my own projects.

Great! Me like music BD

As for an exclusive composer, I'd like to work with Yuki Kajiura.

She's done some of the best action musics in anime ever.

Wonderful job RPG Maker! These are some fantastic resources.

If you could choose any one musician to compose exclusive music for your projects, who would you choose and why?

I'm going to be different, and choose someone who has never composed for games. (To my knowledge.). My dream game composer would be the great John Williams, composer of Jaws, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and many other movies. I'd choose Williams because I believe that game themes should be memorable and hummable. Themes should increase emotion in your games primarily, but it's a big plus if the themes are catchy and get stuck in the player's head. John Williams has composed so many catchy movie themes; how can someone not enjoy his music?

Jonathan 'Jonnie' Stewart He's really good with music and a really nice guy.

Ok I will particiapte too on that giveaway.

I don't wanna undermine any other artist or pack.

My opinion is just my opinion and totally biased.

If it is one  music composer I really REALLY appreciated was J Stewart (JSM FUTURISTIC MUSIC PACK).

Crystal clear quality.

Good music composition skills.

Correct mixdown.

Not too complex, neither minimalistic.

Catchy.

Appropriate for video games.

His music is almost like what I do, for my games or my leisure so he has the same taste as I do.

I can understand his great work and effort, including my personal taste bias...

For me... if it's only one, it's J Stewart.  ;)

FOR ME.

I do modern day RPGs though.

PS:

I don't own his music, but listened to all the music demo.

Since I write music myself I don't need such asstets.

BUT if I wanted on of them that would be the one I  mentioned!

I just... well don't really know what to say to you both. It means a lot to see that response from you guys! It's the greatest thing a musician can hear! Thank you for your support, and hey who knows maybe one day I will be working on a project with you guys :D

*breathes heavily* OMG OMG OMG THE NEW OLD SCHOOL MODERN PACK IS HEEEERE~!

If I could pick anyone to do music for my game(s), it would be Daft Punk. Because they're Daft Punk.

EDIT: Omg, the JSM Futuristic pack is one of my favorite music packs, absolutely.

Jeremy Soule would be my musician of choice.  He is a talented musician who had made amazing music for many AAA titles including Elder Scrolls and Guild Wars.  Music is a major factor in drawing people into games and setting the environment.

Hmmm ....I am thinking of asking Mozart himself to compose videogame music for me -- probably because it seems curiously interesting to see how he would pull it off ..

Just imagine how such a person - with no previous background in or even a slight acquaintance with - videogames (much less, RPGs ) - would tackle such a task.

I think this can be essentially done by, first, searching for or working out some sort of time travel technology or any specific way to effectively communicate with him. Next, I would carefully describe to him what a videogame is and, then, show him a few examples to give him a clear idea.

I should also probably bring my laptop and  suggest that we meet in a music room where I can easily record his composition samples and immediately show him how his music would actually workout in an RPG Maker game. Explaining to him a few RPG Maker basics might help too.

Then when such a project gets done, I would probably urge him (and give him the permission to do so) to sell his new compositions to the Official Store as a resource pack -- which could probably be named: "Mozart's Older School New Music Pack".

However, I am not sure if he would want to be interviewed for the Official Blog and talk about what he went through and what he thinks about RPG Maker - perhaps, from a classical perspective.  In any case, as an act of courtesy, I should probably give him a complete heads up in advance  :) .

I'd have a friend of mine do it. He already did one piece for me.

Rhyan D'Errico is a music student at Cal State. As to why, just click the link to his soundcloud and listen for a minute!

Awesome, thinking of getting those music packs.

After hearing the soundscapes sample, I'd want that composer. I've been looking for that kind of music resource for a long time now. :)

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
