43 Members, 3 Anonymous and... 147 Guests?!!!

I just realized that now Member + didn't existed anymore why then Downloads and Gallery... I wondered if the gallery was private in my status but went later on more curious figuring out that at 5am I was alone up a Saturday morning.


Since I tried to find a way to attach files in PMs but posting nowhere out in public or out of the site, I took a DeviantArt png image to paintbucket color to make a test...  It seemed to stall, but seeing it used Cloud, I was happy it wasn't some NDA commission.  Then I realized it wasn't a sprite sheet and not really made by me material and a wee bit panicked about if the mods could warn/kick/ban me because my curiosity got there. I also saw Download files also then where appeared the gallery (seemed really public to me and the download files (mostly Restaff). I was in awe but couldn't find the right tread about it on the forum and...  Well before posting here took a look at WHO was on the forum (as in; is there someone I won't bother that much and know?!) but sawthat there was about 40 members on, 3 anonymous and more than an hundred guests. I clickedon the FULL LIST and... They kindahave eclectic reading and out number us.   Well... it kinda gives someuneasy... we arenot alone feel as well as a yeah! one...


So anyone on Gallery use, Download file use or are guests and able to tell me how comes there are so many guests on-line?  And so few anonymous? for us members?

gallery and download have always been here, and were never restricted to M+


however, the option to add new filed had been disabled for half a year or a year before the V4 forum update, because the older servers couldn't handle the load reliable.

A lot of the guests can likely be attributed to either people doing Google searches and are just reading the topics without logging in, or spam bots.

  Spambots are the scariest. 


But admit their doubling when folks wakes up is kinda... suspect?  XD

Spambots do not scare anyone, especially after some countermeasures applied to this forum.


There is always new tricks going on and new member accounts ready to give it a spam shot but still this becomes harder and harder and spammers seek for more exploitable forums I suppose.

I've ran large forums in the past which had close to 1,000 people signed in.


Subreddits have taken over forums sadly...  And you can't DO MUCH with subreddits...   I can't use my favorite frameworks like foundation or bootstrap...  I can't customize the html...

Ack!  Sometimes I am overenthusiastic about progress... Then some other days I have a grudge about it!  (especially when it cuts functionalities that I was using for crap or... advertisements!)
