4K Gaming

My next computer parts upgrade is somewhere about 1800 Euros despite it would be built in my house.


I have a high end computer but to properly to take advantage of 4X more pixels, it takes stuff like "Titan X" to run properly with demanding games.


Top of that a high quality and yet somewhat budget 4K monitor with over 120 hz and 1 ms refresh rate.

Even though my computer more than meet Arkham Knight's recommended specs, I might decide to play it in 4K resolution.


Then again I might just decide that the current setup is fine and I can wait that 4K setup becomes a lot cheaper option.

+1 here as well. I was actually thinking about upgrading my rack.

I decided not to get 4K display as of yet.


After I found out that it was based to TF instead of IPS technology, I decided to wait a bit since IPS based 4K monitors are becoming cheaper.

Are there going to be some major products in a next few months that I should wait instead?

Yes, wait for the AMD 300 series if you are looking to upgrade. It will be out soon enough and supposedly be "godly". The power consumtion and heat will be insane, as it always is with AMD, but generally people go with AMD GPUs for 4K gaming.

As for the monitors, I suspect in another year they will be a hell of a lot cheaper.

I stick with Nvidia, especially since I already ordered my Titan X.


Factors like noise levels are important to me plus Nvidia has these nice technologies in-built to their cards. Though how much PhysX actually helps over its competitors is debatable.


I know that current most powerful consumer gaming focused card is bat **** powerful compared to price but I tend to go with premium for some strange reason.

Well it's your thing, but have you ever considered that your big card eats a lot of power and produces a lot of heat which in summer needs extra energy to get cooled down.

I'm all for nature friendly energy but power consumption has not been a great concern outside of having enough powerful PSU.


My computer broke down so I ended up spending more money on it than expected.

For those few who still give a damn, I shall inform that I have B326HK monitor.


Unless you understand or know someone who understand how to set two sets of cables and stuff like that, I wouldn't recommend this monitor to you.


However once you set it up right, it's so damn wonderful. 4K resolution in 60hz and excellent colors is just bueno.
