RPG Maker Forums

Hey guys and gals, I haven't been around here in awhile, been busy with university but I ran across something today that I think a lot of you may find beneficial.

I found out that Microsoft is giving away six month promo codes to Pluralsight through their free Visual Studio Dev Essentials program. Pluralsight is a website that has video training courses for all kinds of computer related professions, although it's primarily aimed at coding, I noticed they have javascript training, graphic design, etc. You don't need any kind of payment information or anything in order to get or use the promo code, it's all free for the six month period.

The free 6 month offer ends at the end of December I believe or if too many people get it and they decide to stop it, so you should activate it ASAP.

Here's how to get it:

What you'll need: A Microsoft email account,  I believe any free Microsoft email will work.

1.

Go here and sign up for Visual Studio Dev Essentials

https://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/products/visual-studio-dev-essentials-vs.aspx

2. When you've finished signing up there should be something like  a "Activate your six month offer to Pluralsight" on the main page when you're logged in. You click that, it redirects you with the promo code to Pluralsight.com

3. You sign up with the code on the page it directs you to and when complete you should have a six month subscription to the entire Pluralsight library for free.

I asked Shaz prior to posting this and she said it should be okay for me to post it, I think people in this community will find the video training very helpful in their development endeavors and I'm in no way associated with either company, just sharing the goodies I found.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
