Hi fellow game makers,

a love declaration first - I think we are one of the best and most supportive communities ever. It's always impressive what everyone brings in and provides without thinking about their own profit. And I think this spirit is a spirit we should have in a lot more aspects of our world and life.

I'm a project manager and sustainability officer in real life, managing live marketing projects in Europe. But my passion is pushing our sustainability efforts, not only ecologically but also in terms of equality, education, and humanity. Video games are a super important medium to reach people today and I want to make a love letter to all the gamers with an empowering message, that everybody can change the world for the better - and you don't need to be a "chosen one", a "hero chosen by prophecy", a "prince or princess" or anyone with a predestined fate. Everybody shapes his/her own fate.

The game is in development for 3 months now and since MZ came out, I'm working on the first hours of the game. I'm in the community since VXA and spend a lot of time in MV, but was never able to finish anything due to time issues, which changed now. I'm a good storyteller, versed allrounder and I have a high approach to all of my work.

Please understand that for now, I won't publish the games name, character names, or very specific story details here to prevent idea stealing (which happens unfortunately from time to time).

Type: Commercial game, ideally covering all our third-party costs/expenses and donating the profit to charities of our choice (but we can decide about all of this together)
Estimated playtime: 20-25h

Synopsis: The story begins 17 years before the present events when a single parenting family gets caught between two fronts, forced to make a horrible decision, which also forces the player to question their own moral choices. The player can decide if they want to play as a woman or a man. Decision-making is important. How do you treat people? Which of the two sides are you helping? Are you risking your life for others or is profit more important for you? The choices you make will have consequences for the game world. Representation, gender equality, diversity, sustainability, connection with nature, animal friendliness etc. will be addressed as issues to reflect real-life challenges and to motivate the player to question their own behavior. Am I the best person I can be?

The eight main heroes will have to find their own place in the world as well, questioning their actions, living with the consequences of their decisions. They will have their own motivation, their own goals, their own problems.

After a third of the game, they will come to the conclusion, that all the existing organizations and countries are just following their own goals for their own profit. This will conclude in the founding of their own alliance, which serves as an advocate for the planet, for all its inhabitants, and for a better world. The second part of the game will be about deciding where you'll intervene and where not, with which nations you will cooperate with and to confront the effects of all your former decisions.

The game should serve as a motivator on a meta-level to make more conscious decisions in real-life and to treat people the way they want to be treated.

My part: Overall story design, eventing, cutscenes, mapping, parallax mapping and lighting (support welcomed), character design and development, project management, quality management, legal aspects and rights management, marketing.

Positions/Roles Needed: There are three aspects, where my abilities can't cover my quality approach. Therefore it would be awesome if other talented people join to shape our vision together. In general, I would love to have people on board, that want to form a good team, discuss ideas, being sparrings partner. I would love to make it our vision, not only mine. The games concept is still a draft, giving also room for your own ideas to bring in!

1 - Illustrator /Artist
Concept Art, Visual Character Design, UI, Overall Graphic Concept, Pixel Art >> covered by our current team members

Tileset creation (not all of course, but if you can cover some of it, this would help a lot) >> still needed

2 - Scripter / Programming
Pushing the available plugins to the limit to create a unique experience, Battle Design, Main Menu programming (Graphics provided by us)

3 - Composer / Sound Designer
We already have a composer on board. We're still looking for an SFX designer.

Other talents, I would be happy to welcome: Story and dialogue support writers, Scenario and map designers, animation artists, DragonBones animators, and any other people that are looking for a challenging project and want to work in a team.

Skill Trade: I can offer
  • adaptions, rearrangings, and recoloring in Photoshop.
  • cutscene scripting.
  • character development.
  • quality management, sparrings partner for brainstormings.
  • test playing and providing feedback from a gamers and from a marketing perspective.
Characters, Setting, and World Development:
  • All the characters are "regular people", which means no prince/princess, no chosen one, no one able to do things just because of blood relation and inherited skills. The message is, that everyone can make a difference.
  • 4 main characters are already developed, 4 in the making.
  • The world once was very connected to nature and its spirits but lost this connection over the centuries.
  • Technical progression and industrialization take place, making humans and nature a second priority.
  • A kind of magic exists, but can only be used when you can materialize the energy of the nature/planet.
  • If you need a comparison, it's similar to the world of Final Fantasy 6 or Chrono Trigger. But it will definitely have parallels to the real world struggles.

Hi! I like the sound of this project. I'm a hobbyist pixel artist and I'd be willing to make some character and/or monster sprites. I'd want to wait and see how well we work together before agreeing to commit on anything long term, though.

One possible hurdle is that I only have RPG maker VX ace, but that shouldn't hinder me from doing art and participating in discussions.

I'm happy to show example works via PM to see if my style is compatible with what you have in mind.

Finished that egg-sitting mini-game I mentioned here a couple weeks back. Now to fix the weather system so it doesn't rain indoors while you're playing it. >.> A simple fix in itself; leave it to me to take it as an excuse to completely revamp the time/weather/lighting system from scratch.
I'm really tempting to pre order cyberpunk 2077... should I do it or not :/ I really want to play the game but don't want to take a big hit to my saving because of it
So I need to come up with quite a few action sequences.
Was stressing about this plugin earlier, but pretty happy with how its looking now! Purple makes it pop more too!! :)
