I have an idea involving a castle in a desert surrounded by a forest of cacti. The idea is that a century ago, it was magically seeded in response to a prediction. Many people tried to navigate that labyrinth over the decades, but if they didn't get sliced up by the thorns in tandem with exhaustion from the intense heat, random enemy encounters would wear them down first.

May question is what would be the best approach to realizing this concept?
On one hand, I've started taking some stuff from PandaMaru and Avy and Frankensteining them into a usable tileset.
On the other, there's that Wild West bundle in the store. I'm almost sure it has the kinds of stuff I'm looking for -- especially since the project is in a world that's a bit of a blend of European fantasy and late-19th and early-20th century technology. I use RMMV, but I can modify that bundle for it. Bearing that in mind, I tend to refrain from purchasing resource packs if I'm not certain I can use most of it.

Any advice?

I don't see a cactus in any of the screenshots for that pack. You'd want to make sure it's got them, if they're important.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
Yay, now back in action Happy Christmas time, coming back!

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
