I’m using Pixanna Orchestra tilesets, edited to VX/Ace (I use VX).

I’m trying to use the railing to create a "second level effect", but there is a problem:

No matter how I set the passage settings, there is always this chunk of empty space. I don’t know if this is normal or is just me messing up the tiles.

Is there a way to make him stop right at the railing from both sides?

Pics of the left: the problem.
Pics on the right: How I want it to look from both sides.

Make it passable then click on passage 4-dir to make it so you can get close but not go over. The dot should be where you don't want things to walk on, the arrows for anything else.

Oh shoot. Hmm, I thought I owned it, but I can't find it anywhere. I'm sorry.

Is okay! thanks for trying anyways!

Just a note, I put the railing in TileB, along with most of the tiles.

Unfortunately, closest way on VX is to have rail piece on the center instead of by the side.

It's a bit of editing work to connect the rails with center support.

Yeah, I have no idea how to do that edit. Been trying, but just butcher it. A little help, please?

Okay, that solution is nice for railing when you dont have to do the "second floor" ilussion, but for the latter, it doesnt work. Still, is gonna come in handy for other stuff!

In any case, I guess that gotta choose to leave a blank space or going parallax or something. In any case, Im satisfied with this information.

Thank you!

Edit: Alternative method with the tiles is to have two same maps of different levels: low and high
With transfer player event, transitions could look subtle when two maps looked the same.

You can add blank space on one side or the other when a part of the map isn't used of that level.

Thanks for opening!
Here is the solution that worked perectly for me, thanks to tale for the solution:

First you map the trailing normally.

Then, Use a blank event with the details on the images (first and second page). Paste that on both sides of the railing sidenote: works perfectly if your character can only go left and right, which is the case with mine. (You can also put the railing with events like in the sample, but it worked fine for me mapping and blank events.)

Thats all!

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
