Hello all Range here.

Now I have never released a game for download before this point so if you saw me talking about something I was making it was either for school, a friend, or testing. Now here are my questions.

*A real game

I am finally going to be starting a game project I am going to be releasing to the public for feedback,

and I have a good idea for what it is going to be. Everyone has heard of the horror game Amnesia, right? Well I am making a game inspired by Amnesia and similar to Ao Oni which was also made in Ace, but I have some questions about it.

1. How can you make an event that can follow you, through maps? If you don't understand what I mean look at the "Blue troll" in Ao Oni how he follows you through doors.

2. How do you make you're own vehicles? Like Aside from the boat, ship, and airship. Like a horse, or a mine cart or something.

3. (UNRELATED) How do I close my own topics because I don't want a mod to go out of his way to close it.

The name of my game will be called お化け屋敷

TRANSLATION: Haunted House

Never played either, but here's my best help:

1. How can you make an event that can follow you, through maps? If you don't understand what I mean look at the "Blue troll" in Ao Oni how he follows you through doors.
-Simply make an actor, and set it to be in your party.

or

-You could use a script. Here is one: http://forums.rpgmak...age__hl__follow.

or

Set the event to approach, and copy and paste the event onto each map (once at each entrance) that it can follow you in. Have a conditional for each event (set to a door switch), to ensure the event appears at the right door that you enter.

or

-Use this script http://forums.rpgmak...+event +wrapper in conjunction with the above method... would make it tidier.

2. How do you make you're own vehicles? Like Aside from the boat, ship, and airship. Like a horse, or a mine cart or something.
[Edit]: Use this script: http://forums.rpgmak...ge__hl__vehicle

3. (UNRELATED) How do I close my own topics because I don't want a mod to go out of his [or her] way to close it.
You can't.

For making an event chase you around on each map, I answered a similar question before (albeit it was for XP, but the the mechanism is the same.) Check it out.

So I went to the post for the pet follower script and I don't understand how to do a "script call" any help there?

Oh and when I say follow I don't mean right behind you I mean like in this video.

Go ahead and skip to the 4:40 mark.

Third event tab, bottom right under Advanced 'Script...' then input the script call that you want (which should be noted in the script itself).

Thanks bro.

Sadly, that isn't the kind of "following" I am looking for.

I'm at work, so I can't watch the video. If someone doesn't beat me to it, I'll watch the video after work and edit this post with my thoughts.

Please check out the thread I linked, they were using the same video as an example.

If you don't fancy using scripts, you could also try to use events, though that would be quite difficult. Would use lots of switches and wait commands.

In that video, the game doesn't use any kind of fancy system to make the monster "chase" the player. The monster looks like it follow pretty far behind the player; and in a pretty loose way. It's most likely just a "move toward player" setting.

Actually, no, not really, the events were pretty simple to set up.

Either way, post in the eventing support thread if you've got anymore questions.

This thread is being closed, due to being solved. If for some reason you would like this thread re-opened, please report this post and leave a message why. Thank you.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
