A few things I need help with

Is this the correct place to post for support? As you know I am new to this website, so I'm trying to understand how it works. I've read the rules too.


Hey. There are a few things I need professional support on for my game. I am using RPG maker VX Ace.


I have thought about these few things since this morning, and would like some info on how to create them.


1. If it is possible to have your player fall out of a bed for example, how is the event written.


2. I am in need of a transfer event to the same location, but under the condition for example, that the town is now in flames.


3. Is it possible to have a dragon walking graphic that is playable.


4. If there is a way to have the character name above a face graphic, how is it done if you don't have a downloaded plug-in per se.


Please help.

Most of these can be best learned by working through the tutorials (Andar has a good one). A couple examples though:


1: Most people use a set move route: jump event to move out of bed (as in, have the player jump to the correct location). You can also do a set move route, through on (move to desired location), through off.


2: Will need either a switch or variable to track when the town is in flames, and transfer the player to the desired location. I'd recommend a variable, especially if it is a plot event that causes this, as most times you'll just keep increasing the variable to denote progress on the main plot.


3: Yes. All it takes is a dragon graphic for the actor in the database. There's one in the default sprites. A face is harder.


4: Most put the name in line one of the text, then the text in lines 2 - 4 of the message box. If that is not satisfactory then a script is mandatory to put the name anywhere else.

Though it will not help with #4 you asked, that will either be giving up one line to type out the name, or using a message system script that lets you use a code to have it display the name.
