A good rtp game?

Hey. I was looking my old games and I begun to think: "lol, I was always using rtp graphics". Now when I think in rtp games I can't think of a good game. I always have used rtp graphics to make joke games, but when we talk about a real game... I don't know... I can't imagine a serious game with rtp graphics. But, can one of these generic looking games be a hidden gem? I don't know in fact, all the games I have tested with rtp graphics are crap. But I think they were crap because they all where noobs project with a perfect use of horrography and with pretty bad histories and characters. But I think there must be a good rtp game xD.


Do you guys know a good rpgmaker rtp game?

So you mean just default graphics used? So non-default music, artwork and scripts are okay?

Graphics has nothing to do with the quality and theme of the game, you can even make a serious rm game or a horror with the RTP and the DS resource packs (and we are talking about supercute chibis among these resources), all depends by how you write the game and most importantly how you use the materials. Old classic JRPGs (FFI-VI and Tactics for example) always used chibis like that and weren't really joke games, quite the opposite in fact.

Honestly there are many, you simply have to search for them.

I'm not going to comment on the quality of my own game, I'll leave that up to you guys, but I recently released a finished game almost purely made with RTP that I was serious about making good. You can find it in the finished games section on the forums.


I've also played a couple of games (or more like demos) in the past that were made with just RTP assets that I thought were pretty good. On the other hand, I've played plenty of games that were full with custom graphics, and yet didn't manage to impress me on a gameplay level. Don't judge a book by its cover.

I will search for them. All the rtp game that I played were quite bad. They were some spanish games with rtp music, horrography and generic histories but if these games are good I will search for them. Thank you

Legionwood is pretty good. Tales of the drunken paladin entertained me a lot as well.
