Hi there, it seems i have always had a little problem with trees when using the Pop Horror City resource pack ... screenshots below

So here are two of the same sets of trees starting to be tiled ... here is what happens if I arrange them in a pyramid ...

I can't see why this would be happening ... here are the tile settings

I'm trying to achieve a really nicely tiled wood effect without using parallaxes as they always seem to go wrong for me as i'm using MBS Zoom.

Many thanks!

Have you tried to change star to x? You could also try holding shift while adding to make the tree appear as though it's in front of the other trees.

I am curious too. But I am also curious about how you put two trees at the same time too.

As far as I knew, B to E were all supposed to be on the same layer, so using two tiles from them would usually substitute one for the other.

But, I also somehow made two tiles from a D I made occupy the same space on my own project somehow.

So, yes, I am curious about how it all works now. I'd say it is normal and suggest making a custom "combo" tile, but if it isn't anymore...

But I think in your particular problem, you are adding three tiles on the same place, while I only put two.

@Waterguy: This is MV, and MV has two upper layers - that was one of the most advertised improvements when it came out.

@keeno79 While MV has two upper layers (which is one more than VX and VX Ace), that are not three upper layers - you still can't place three tiles from the upper layers (B-E) on the same space in the map. You'll need to use special tiles for the middle row, containing tree parts left and right. Outside B shows examples of such tree tiles needed to place trees overlapping.

Alternatives would be to either move one tree to the bottom layer (A5 for example), or to use decorative events as the third, top layer. Both alternatives have their own disadvantages however.

@Andar, sorry for the delay in responding - thank you for clearing that up for me, makes complete sense now!

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
