The idea is simple.
A bigger sheet for A5 (Normal) tiles.
Basically, a larger sheet for more tiles to be used for adding more to a map at the ground level.

I'd like this so that I could add more details to overworld maps specifically without having to rely on just auto tiles or using software such as TileD.

I don't really have any mockups..
For those wondering what I'm speaking of, I mean this.

'Why is this feature good?'
This feature is good because it could allow more leeway in making maps how you want them without needing some HUGE change to the editor or using outside software.

'Possible issues'
I don't see how it could be an issue other than maybe causing an issue for existing projects, but i doubt it would be that big of an issue.

While I’d like some more radical improvements to RM’s map editor (larger tilesets, more layers etc), I take any small improvement I can get. The A5 sheet is too small, I agree.

Although if it could be flexible (the Size) then there most likely wouldn’t be any problems for existing projects either.

Unfortunately there are issues with that. Issues that caused the tilesets to be limited in the first time after RMXP had run into those problems with its unlimited tilesets...

It's basically the fact that larger tilesets will require larger resources to be loaded (and loaded constantly). With RMXP, some of the massive tilesets that were used then even caused the editor to pause for some time when loading a new map to work on, the lag for playing a game with them was even worse.
And while that is not as critical for modern computers than it was for the computers at the time of RMXP and RMVX, it is even worse for deployment to mobile - so increasing the tileset size will cause massive problems when deploying to mobile devices.

It's unfortunate that this tilesheet is only 16 rows long. It'd be nice if it at least contained the same number of tiles as the B-E sheets. If it has to be only 8 columns, then make it 32 rows. I do find this particular tilesheet a bit restrictive.

Due to the internal ordering of the tilesheets, it could not be unlimited in size without other substantial changes, but I'd be happy with a larger fixed size. Providing this as an update, though, would probably break all existing maps for the same reason.

While I'd like this change, I find it more of an issue on VX Ace than on MV. Because in MV, whatever I put on B through D, I can still layer over each other without much problem. It's more of just an organizational thing as to why I'd like A5 to be larger.

To be fair, i'm not saying to make it unlimited.
I'm just saying to make it like the upper layer tilesets.
It feels too small compared to the rest... especially when i don't use auto tiles for everything.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
